Re: 2018 Anticipated Games Thread
Red Dead Redemption 2 - October 26
A bit later than expected, but I’ll be fine if it can make that date.
Monster Hunter World is a bit underwhelming thus far. Everything takes so damn long to do, I’m legit afraid to turn it on even an hour before I have to leave for work/anything else. It is a great feeling when you finally bring the giant beats down though.
Celeste on the other hand is excellent. I really liked Towerfall, but they topped it with this adventure. The platforming is very fun, though difficult , and the story is surprisingly engaging. It is on Ps4 and Switch and I would highly recommend it for only $20. What a steal!

Re: 2018 Anticipated Games Thread
Detriot: Become Human - May 25 (Heavy Rain/Beyond Two Souls developers)
Mario Tennis Aces - June 22 (rumor for now)
Summer is shaping up nicely. With Read Dead in the fall, I bet we see a higher than usual amount of big releases. Spider-Man release date should be coming any day now and I think it will be late July.
Also, Cuphead would be one of the best games if it wasn’t for the damn airplane levels! Still really great though.

Re: 2018 Anticipated Games Thread
The early reviews for Sea of Thieves are quite disappointing... It seems it's a blast, if repetitive, with a group of friends, otherwise it's a big letdown. I really don't like reviews determining what I buy, but I feel like this could be a huge waste of $60.

Re: 2018 Anticipated Games Thread
Yeah it kinda blows. I wish I had waited. Its pretty fun sailing across the open seas with a good group or even by yourself. But thats about it. I’ll keep playing just to try and get my moneys worth though. Hopefully they add more content in the near future.
Spring 2018 has been pretty whack in general - with Sea of Thieves joining Monster Hunter and Into The Breach in the disappointment bucket, they at least the first is a real game and the second is only $15. Spring 2017 had 3 instant classics in Horizon, Persona and Breath. And Resident Evil 7! God Of War, which is apparently one very long scene, can’t come soon enough.

Spider-Man - September 7th. Bad for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, which is Sept. 14th, but good for everyone else who has a PS4. It looks amazing and will definitely be a contender for game of the year.

Re: Anticipated Games Thread
Well E3 is off to a hot start with Anthem and Kingdom Hearts 3 getting early 2019 release dates. Of course there is still plenty of time for delays.
Poor Days Gone really should have waited for a few more days to be gone lol. Looks great but Anthem will slaughter it.

Re: Anticipated Games Thread
Dying Light 2! I’m here for that.
Xbox had a very strong conference. I want Halo, Gears, Ori, Shadows Die Twice and Cuphead DLC. Not to mention all the 3rd party stuff they showed off.

Hopefully we get Elder Scrolls next year.
Outside of Bethesda, Dying Light 2 is definitely what I'm most interested in. Fallout 76, meh. I only got about 50 hours into Fallout 3 and lost interest. I've spent thousands of hours playing Elder Scrolls through the years. The mobile TES: Blades looks good, I'm just not a mobile gamer though. I'll wait til it comes to console. The biggest thing for me for the Bethesda conference was the confirmation of Starfield. Tons of potential there. In the brief announcement for that game, they said it's single player and they've been working on it for a few years. Realistically, given they showed nothing of the game itself, I'd say that game would be released in 2020 at the earliest. And they said the next game after that will be TES6. So we've got a long wait. I'd say earliest release of ES6 would be 2021, and that's very thinking very positively. Bethesda takes their time, their games are so huge and lore heavy.

I like Kingdom Hearts 3. And Elder Scrolls sounds interesting even though I never played Skyrim.

Updated release dates for everything post E3.
Also, God Of War probably did deserve its own thread. Amazing game. 9.5/10.

Re: Anticipated Games Thread
Sekiro gets dated for March 22nd and next spring is officially STACKED. It could possibly rival spring 2016 (Horizon, Persona, Zelda, Resident Evil, Mass Effect).
This summer has been pretty soft for AAA releases- Tennis and the dark souls remake were the only ones I bothered with. Hollow Knight for Switch wins the season for me. Dead Cells is also a good time and I’m eager to jump into Guacamelee 2. So hooray for indies!

Updated main post.
Rumor is that Anthem will not make its date and may get pushed all the way to the PS5. That shadow hangs over the whole year. Will Last of Us 2 come out?

It's an abstract kind of feel when the games you're hyped for - Metro Exodus, Ace Combat 7 and Azur Lane Crosswave - are the ones you'll never play because you have better things to do with $500 than buy a PS4.
Eh, maybe I'll buy a second hand one in 2020 and play the games for cheap.

Updated. And we have Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 coming out soon! The fall is full of uncertainty but we should have a good spring with those, Anthem, Trials, Sekiro and Yoshi.

Updated. The Switch has a good summer lineup but its looking pretty barren on the other consoles.

Nice! And they say they will get all the original songs back too. I'm bout to grind to some Guerilla Radio.

Also, Last of Us 2 is dated for mid June now, BUT THERE ARE SPOILERS EVERYWHERE. I got hit in a thread about the Assassin's Creed Viking game, so be weary of all comment sections and subreddits, even if totally unrelated to The Last of Us.
