Aren't they covering post-Hurricane Katrina fallout?

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
There is another show on network tv covering the Menendez murders - that would have been a perfect fit for this type of show. Or perhaps, the Joey Buttefuoco or Lorena Bobbit stories...

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
If this series is going to be elastic re: setting, tone, and time period the way American Horror Story is, perhaps they should consider the Emmett Till case.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Finally finished. This series was incredible and the finale was so powerful and haunting.
Sarah Paulson, Courtney B. Vance and Sterling K. Brown should be locks for Emmys, but I also thought David Schwimmer was AMAZING in the final stretch.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Anyone watching The Assassination of Gianni Versace? Some of the latest episode I found seriously difficult to watch. I got the same gut reaction from the Walking Dead Season 7 premiere. It's captivating, but I'm not sure if for the best reasons.
I suppose it's no different than a harsh slasher flick, but I'm wondering to what end are we following this serial killer for nine episodes? If it's just to showcase the acting chops of Edgar Ramirez, Penelope Cruz, Darren Criss, Judith Light, etc., so be it. They're all fantastic. But I'm just not sure if this is a necessary story to tell. Feels less like we're telling the stories of real people and real crimes and more like we're just getting Emmy and Golden Globes for these performances (again, super deserved if they do).
But it's still riveting. So I don't know. Maybe that's how I'm supposed to feel.

Darren Criss is blowing this show up. He's just fantastic. And last night's episode when he kills the architect. Holy fuck that was rough

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I enjoyed the pilot, but I'm seriously considering on just binging this once all the episodes are out. The pilot didn't really grab me like O.J. Simpson did, but from the very little I saw the performances seemed very promising, particularly Ricky Martin and Penelope Cruz.

I kind of hate Ryan Murphy's style of stunt casting, but then they end up giving great performances, so maybe I should reconsider that stance. It's working so far here.

"Versace" is great so far. Darren Criss is shockingly excellent in it.

They kind of all are. I hope they submit Judith Light for supporting. That whole episode, she was fucking phenomenal. She's been in need of an Emmy since her scenery-chewing run on the Dallas revival.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Another strong episode. I still don't know where things are going or even what the timeline is, if it's linear or just all over the place, but just as an episode, strong performances again. There's something so tragic about when David gets into the house and sees his father sitting there, and you realize he's either dead or close to death.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
I thought Cody Fern was outstanding last night. The scene where he saw his father before his death was haunting and heartbreaking - it almost made me cry. And Darren Criss continues to absolutely nail it as Cunanan.
I honestly LOVE this so far. It's so fascinating and tragic and well-made. It's a really hard watch though because of how brutal it is. The past few episodes have been genuinely upsetting.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
Totally agree.
Although personally, it feels like when looking at the big picture, that the whole thing is aimless. Unlike O.J. Simpson, which I still had a basic knowledge of even though I was only 8/9 years old at the time, I had no prior knowledge of this story at all. I'm sure it was hugely significant, but it didn't have the same level of eyes watching, and the long, drawn-out trial of O.J. So I kind of wish there was more of a linear story being told.
But individually, week-to-week, the show is excellent. I know Ramirez and Cruz will be more present in the second half of the season, but last week's focus on Mike Farrell and Judith Light, and this week with Cody Fern, both were just incredible episodes of television. And Darren Criss plays a psychopathic serial killer way too well.

Cody Fern and Darren Criss not being nominated would be a travesty. This latest episode has honestly haunted my dreams.

So right when I actually take the time to watch this and get all caught up they take a two week break lol. Last three episodes were killer though and Darren Criss is fantastic in this show.

I wasn't a fan of the non-linear storytelling until last night. There was something so sad and chilling about watching this character and knowing his fate from last week.

I'd rather feel extremely uncomfortable than nothing at all.

I am in awe, the casging director is just giving Emmys to this show. No way they don t sweep the acting categories now. Finn was ACES.
These victims have been so much more compelling than the Versaces

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
It’s a shame this season’s buzz seems more subdued because it really has been brilliant. It is also increasingly hard to watch because of how upsetting it is. Every episode is such a punch to the gut. Finn Wittrock was amazing in the most recent one, probably the best work I've seen from him.

Re: The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story
As good? I'd argue better. Outside of Sterling K. Brown and Sarah Paulson, most of the performances ranged from Overdone (Travolta) to "Well, he was better than I expected" (Schwimmer).
