I love big blockbuster action films. I just hold them to the same standard I hold all films: They need to make internal sense, be well-written, and have believable characters -- and I don't want to have my intelligence insulted while watching it. The newest Marvel films have done a great job of being action-filled popcorn films that are also done well. And even an animated film like The Incredibles knows that character development, script, and plotting is more important than special effects and action.

And that's the problem with Armageddon -- I can't enjoy the action parts because the rest is so damned stupid.

(Algren has criticized me more than once, by the way, for both "liking kid's movies" and later "being pretentious and only liking arty films" because I hate Michael Bey. Go figure)

Still 300, Saw, but also The Void.

I think cases can be made for any film to be the worst (or the best), but Titanic, 300 and Saw as most hated just sounds ridiculous to me. It really must have been a case of just getting terribly dissapointed, but still then there's just so much quality in each of them for me.

Hating Titanic is definitely bitterness against the zeitgeist. Hating 300 is jealousy over having no abs. Hating Saw is partly going against the grain, partly because he didn't get it, and partly because it's GuybrushX McMurphy, so he has to be as elitist as possible.

I'm still with Bug. Also I never really cared for It's A Wonderful life if we're talking about classics. Though I do appreciate the storytelling aspects, just has never done anything for me.

I generally don't think I ever hate films. I always find some kind of merit. I do despise Mission Impossible 2. I swear go back and watch that movie again, it's a movie about staring. It is vomit inducing, but I do laugh too much at how horrible it is that I can't say I hate it.

You have no appreciation for style.

Don't listen to this woman, she is half-crazy, half-man. The real reasons are:

1b) A rational hate for the movie's Kinder Country advertisement aesthetics mixed with several other aspects which I discussed in great depth in my now world-famous publication "300", available on Amazon and Froeschl.de
2a) An irrational hate for Tobin Bell's very improper antlitz
2b) A rational hate for the style, plot and morals of this terrible music clip, which had to be discussed in (possibly) even greater depth with an unknown asshole named Waikiki in 2007.
