 Re: Captain America: Civil War
I caught up with the scene I missed the first time around. I still don't get why Zemo wouldn't just release the soldier's out into the wild causing complete chaos, but nooooo (thanks Lecter). We had to have a 2006-2012 era James Bond film where the villain only wants revenge. Everyone he knew died in Sokovia (drink by the way, whenever that nonsense is name-checked). Whaaaa! I'll avenge (HA!) my dead family by splitting the Avengers apart from within? AND IT ONLY TAKES A YEAR? WHAT THE FUCK? Bullshit! Pull off his face like we did with Weaving and reveal his purple eggplant comic book head and have them fight against Cap, Tony, and Bucky. And what could've made that more interesting? The fact that Bucky would've been brainwashed again and Cap would've actually have had to make a decision regarding his friend, and have none of this save him until he can become the next Captain America crap. Instead, Zemo just shoots them in the fucking head. Booooooooo!
It's a good thing that one-on-one-on-one fight at the end was almost, pretty much worth it, and that the entire film before it was fun. It'd be nice though if Marvel dared to have a little drama in one of their films somewhere.

Captain America: Civil War
To my surprise this is a good film. After the kind of crappy Winter Soldier, most of the gang is back, the humour is minimal (and when it is there it works), and the tone is serious and epic. The first half isn't so good, but as soon as the conflict between Stark and Rodgers begins to blossom it is a fun ride. As many others have said, Spider-Man is great. Ant-Man kills it. Black Panther is pretty awesome too. And Stark/Iron Man isn't a prick this time around. I liked all the characters. Well, ok, perhaps Bucky is still irritating. The action in the first half is a shaky-cammed mess, but this is totally changed in the second half. Strange. There is still an issue with these films how nobody dies or nothing important actually happens (things happen but it all seems to reset back to zero at the end of the film). Bucky has his arm ripped off, but he'll have it back for the next movie. Black Iron Man is crippled but then he's fine again. People hate each other but then it's all ok by the end. I just need things to happen and stick in these movies. Otherwise they will always just be throwaway popcorn entertainment. Good film.
Didn't stay for the end credits scene if there was one. The first half drags this movie down, which is a shame because the second half is really entertaining.

 Re: Captain America: Civil War
The first end-credits scene shows Bucky going into cryogenic sleep (in the Black Panther's jungle compound) until a permanent cure for his brainwashing can be found. The second is Peter trying to explain his bruises/injuries to Aunt May, citing a schoolyard fight, and then testing Stark-developed Spider-Man technology.

Good part of second scene is what it means for homecoming. It would show spidey with stark tech.

 Re: Captain America: Civil War
This movie was phenomenal and possibly the best Marvel has done yet. Which should say alot coming from a shill like myself. The Russos juggle the MCU's past, present and future nearly flawlessly without any sacrifice to their characters. The action is top notch throughout the film. The comedy is present but never too much. And it always feels like a personal story between Cap/Bucky, Tony/T'Challa and Zimo. Everyone else is happy to be along for the ride. And because of this we get both the joyous and fun airport battle and the brutal and nearly tragic final fight.

I... disagree. This seemed like Iron Man 4.

 Re: Captain America: Civil War
Considering this film treats Iron Man as an antagonist of sorts, I don't buy the Iron Man 4 vibe

It may have "treated" him that way, but his side was always the reasonable one. And he had more screentime than Batman in BvS.

I got that, Captain doesn't want to be governed, and Tony thinks it would be better if they were. Beyond that, Bucky allegedly performed a terrorist attack, and from there on I don't remember much dialogue anymore.

Bucky also killed Tony's momma and pops, but that is not revealed until after loads of fighting has already happened.

 Re: Captain America: Civil War
No this had the same conspiracy thriller vibe as The Winter Soldier with the extravagant action of the Avengers. Iron Man has always been more about the comedy. If anything I would say Age of Ultron funcioned as Iron Man 4 and this was the true Avengers 2
And is Tony really that reasonable? The Avengers already had oversight in the form of SHIELD, who turned out to be a bunch of nazis. Cap leading them is not only best for the Avengers, but best for the world. Ultron and his shenanigans are really the only events that can directly blamed on The Avengers. And only two of them at that. Seems like Tony is just projecting his guilty conscience upon the rest of them. Which is also the line of thinking that lead to Ultron's creation in the first place.

If anything, I see Ultron as Avengers 2 and Civil War as Avengers 3.

Also accurate. But this is the Avengers leaving Iron Man's world and coming into the world of Cap and the Russos.

Avengers: Age of Ultron functions as Thor 3, and Civil War is the first Hawkeye movie.

 Re: Captain America: Civil War
Then again, Ultron is kind of also like an Avengers sequel with Civil War being the third Captain America movie. It just depends how you look at it.

Not bad, but Iron Man and Captain America overload has officially kicked in after 6/5 films.

Anybody who takes a broader view of these films can see insane amounts of flaws. The movies never attempt to be anything more than they are - comic book films for kids. Robert Downey Jr's age is certainly beginning to show here - the guy has been Iron Man since 200 and fucking 8. His last film will no doubt be huge.
