 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Here is a curious case. US press screenings for X-Men: Apocalypse did not include a post-credits scene which was to be revealed when the film opened. But my screening did. So if you want to know who most likely will be the next X-Men villain, it's here: Mister Sinster. We see a tag reading "Essex Corp." in the scene.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Unlike BvS, at least X-Men Apocalypse's reviews have trended upward and more positive. Bottomed out at 42% (hopefully that's bottoming out...still a long way to go) up to 56%.

I thought Phoenix and Mister Sinister might be both in the next X-Men. Phoenix is not just teased in the film, it is plainly laid out. But thinking about it and Kinberg's comments, I think the Mister Sinister tease is actually for Gambit.

Margot loved the character so much she hired a screenwriter and brought the treatment to the studio. Yay for passion!

Yet very strong rumors are everywhere that X-23 will be in it, the post-credits-scene is set at Alkali Lake and Kinberg said that it ties directly to Wolerine 3 and ADDITIONALLY introduces a new character (Mister Sinister).

You'll be changing your mind and agreeing with all the other sheep when Suicide Squad severely under performs. Oh, actually, you aren't mature enough so you will probably just come up with a bunch of bullshit on how it will be successful no matter how SS performs.

What constitutes "severely underperforms" for you in case of Suicide Squad? I think as long as it does something around Ant-Man's worldwide numbers, it should be alright.

What does either of them "bombing" have to do with my excitement for the films? You can only get excited for movies that do well at the box office? What a stupid theory.

I think the last superhero movie I saw in a theater was The Avengers. So generic that I doubt I will see another Avengers movie in a theater again.

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
Having seen X-Men: Apocalypse, I don't remember the last time I disagreed with the critical consensus this much. I thought it was pretty spectacular. 1. X-Men: Days of Future Past (A+) 2. X2: X-Men United (A) 3. X-Men: Apocalypse (A-) 4. X-Men: First Class (A-/B+) 5. X-Men (B+) 6. X-Men: The Last Stand (C-) Dr. Lecter wrote: The Dark Shape wrote: Dr. Lecter wrote: Here is a curious case. But thinking about it and Kinberg's comments, I think the Mister Sinister tease is actually for Gambit. Well... Mister Sinister/Nathaniel Essex is certainly deeply rooted in Gambit's history, but it was history that was retconned in after 10 years or so (Gambit's role in forming the Marauders) so I'm not sure. Sinister kind of feels like too big of an X-Men villain to only use in a Gambit spinoff, when Gambit could easily dig into his whole Thieves Guild/Assassin's Guild past.
All I know is that my nerd friends and I freaked the fuck out when we saw the Essex name. We already very much loved the film (Apocalypse was more of a force of nature than a developed character and a lot of characters meant no one got the time they deserved, but it was still awesome for any X-Man fan) but that just had us leaving the cinema on such a high).

 Re: Marvel/DC/Comic Book Movie Discussion
New character castings for Thor: Ragnarok. Cate Blanchett (Supervillain Hela, Goddess of Death) Jeff Goldblum (Grandmaster, member of the Elders of the Universe) Tessa Thompson (Superhero Valkyrie) Karl Urban (Skurge) After Spider-Man, Thor is my favorite comic book series and these roles are wonderfully cast, in my opinion.

Shouldn't this have started filming already? It's been a while since the last Thor movie.
