The actors are contracted through season 13 so it will even go another year after this coming season. TVD will end next year I'm assuming and bring Nina Dobrev back for the last stretch of episodes.

Hmm good for Supernatural. It is good in bits and pieces but very repetitive.
It would be nice to see an end to TVD I'm just going along with the show since I started it loooong back. Its decent but its just dragging along for last 3 seasons.

I wish they would end Supernatural. They do have a good episode every now and then, but their season arcs have become somewhat boring. Before every season had it's own theme - they're on the apocalypse, demon vs angel plot for seasons now.

Yeah, at this point "Supernatural" will only end if one of the actors decides to quit or they demand paychecks that are too high. I see neither happening anytime soon. The fanbase of the series is as loyal as it gets. I think it will get to its 300th episode at least (which means 14 seasons).

CW deserves more eyeballs because they have some great shows. Ecstatic Crazy Ex Girlfriend and iZombie are going to be back but I would have been surprised if they weren't. Crazy Ex Girlfriend is brilliant and refreshing.

I hope Supernatural ends in its 13th season. That would be a good number for it. Creatively the show has been lagging for seasons now. I just want to see the end. Not giving up on it after all this time.

I doubt the viewership will drop drastically and they'd have to have many many new hits before they get rid of this one. As you said, they are more likely to cancel all of their non-comic-series than this and by next seaosn, who knows, "Supernatural" might be pulling better numbers than "Legends of Tomorrow".

"Person of Interest" has been officially cancelled. Ut will start its final season in May.
"Vikings" has been renewed for a 20-episode 5th season, starring Jonathan Rhys-Myers. David's gonna be jizzing so hard.

ABC predictably axed Of Prophets and Kings after two episodes.

"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" and "The Last Man On Earth" have been renewed for fourth and third seasons, respectively. Yay! I wasn't worried for either but nice to have it official.

Thank God for B99 (haven't seen the other yet!). Worrisome for "The Grinder" (should be a goner) and "Grandfathered", I suppose, since they have not been announced yet...

I would like The Grinder to be continued, its really nice. Grandfathered is good but I don't mind it being axed.

The chart in this post is brutal, especially when you add it to the lack of new hits this year http://www.vulture.com/2016/03/2015-201 ... chart.html

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
CBS has renewed: Madam Secretary Elementary Scorpion NCIS: Los Angeles NCIS: New Orleans Hawaii Five-0 Blue Bloods Mom 2 Broke Girls Survivor The Amazing Race NCIS and The Big Bang Theory were already renewed. They've held off on making decisions about any of the freshman shows (Supergirl, Code Black, Criminal Minds Beyond Borders, Limitless, Life in Pieces). Still up in the air are Criminal Minds (due to its expense, although I imagine they'll def renew) and CSI Cyber. http://deadline.com/2016/03/blue-bloods ... 201726406/

It's Always Sunny has been renewed through Season 14 (it just finished it's 11th) tying as the longest running live-action comedy of all-time season wise.

http://deadline.com/2016/04/mark-pedowi ... 201731670/I'm glad he has been renewed. CW blossomed under his leadership. If only Dawn was never at the helm. No shitty 90210 and all other female oriented crap she was pushing and canceling great shows.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
I have been wondering onme thing. This season many new shows that bombed were not officially cancelled, but the networks just let them run their course, like "Minority Report" or "Blood & Oil"? I cannot remember this happening to so many series in the same season, usually the networks just announced the cancellation at some point. Am I forgetting similar cases in the past or is it a new thing?

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
I believe that has been the case for a couple of seasons now. First they don't have many replacements any more. And I think that they learned that it's best to let fans see all the episodes. Makes the network seem like more worth to invest their time in from the fans POV. And recently the ratings have been so low and it's hard to find a new hit show that chances are whatever they replace it with will do worse.

Yeah, though I didn't mean them necessarilly pulling the shows off air, but just announcing the cancellation and still showing the remaining episodes. I mean, as it stands, they have never officially announced that all those series were done...

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
What might make the decision even more hard is all the ratings they need to get. If they really do take into account all the various type of ratings, it can be weeks until all of those are compiled. And if they're into really gauging if the show is catching on on some platform (live viewing, streaming, on-demand, etc.) they might be nearly all the way through the filmed episodes so they might not even know themselves if they want to renew the show or not even after the show has run its course.
We have also seen these past few upfronts that some renewals came in the last minute basically. And even the pilot rumors aren't that certain anymore even days before upfronts.

But I mean "Minority Report" for example seems like a very clear-cut case...
