The end of season 5/beginning of season 6 will apparently feature versions of Mufasa and Scar So glad I stopped watching. It will never happen but it would be great if they kept "Galavant" around. Season 2 was a lot of fun. Are you kidding me? I kept meaning to pick up with this show again as I've watched just the first season but man, that sounds dumb as fuck. Maybe I'll just leave it at having seen season 1. I really didn't think American Crime would see another season but honestly I feel like the ratings this season are due to the storyline. I think this season is great but it will turn a lot of people off. I think a third season could see a bit better ratings. It's all about what they pick for a story. Oh god, save yourself. It's actually good in season 1 but just gets worse and worse. Season 3 is unwatchable and season 4 has a bit of a redeemer with the Frozen storyline but goes back to sucking as soon as that's over. I dropped it after that. "American Crime" really isn't doing much worse than it did last year and I think it's been buzzier this season in terms of media coverage.

6 seasons would give OUAT synergy with Lost
As for that rumor, I doubt it. Thor and Loki who are basically the same characters as Mufasa and Scar would have been a good compliment for this season's Greek mythology-tilt, but neither fit the description given, they said the older brother has the power and shine but he's morally corrupt, while the younger, presumably more good version is weaker. In Thor/Loki and Mufasa/Scar the good guy is the powerful one

"OUAT" wishes it was the new "Lost." It gave up that title long ago And are we really acting like the creative team is above that in terms of introducing Lion King characters? They've used every other big hit Disney has - you know if they don't do it now they'll do it soon. The show is 100% about brand recognition these days.

Season 3 and 4 aren't as good as one and two, but I still think they're worth watching. I actually like the second half of four better than the Frozen half.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
4b was probably when I questioned the show the most. A little too much stuffed together. Possibly some storylines that had to got moved backed cause of getting Frozen rights. Other than that I have little complaints and think it's one of the best sci-fi/fantasies ever. Ultimately regardless of one whether thinks they succeeded or not as much as I do, I feel the ambitions of the show were badly miscategorized from the start by critics who immediately wrote it off as a tween cash grab, when it is perhaps closer to the truth to call it the network show with the most oversized ambitions. While its own show, it shares many of the things that made Lost's ambition/creativity a breath of fresh air compared to network TV, from a 100% serialized, massive plot canvas that spans centuries and multiverses of history/mythology changing the future of its characters, to its emotional ambitions, as half its episodes structured about how the emotional journey of how a character went from there to here, along with the present day plots being emotional arc or dialog first. The writers think they made the most emotionally complex show on TV, I can just about guarantee you that. Compare that to the drowning sea of police/doctor/lawyer procedurals on CBS/Fox/NBC/ABC and it's shooting at a different target completely. But it just never had the street cred for people to take it that seriously. Maybe it will have a stronger afterlife in recognition

Definitely not. The show is mostly considered a joke at this point.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
I think Shack's proclaiming of it as as good as Lost is ridiculous, as is thompsoncory's dismissal of it. It's not Emmy quality TV, but it has a few good characters (Regina, Mr. Gold) and many of the plotlines are well done, even if they haven't been masterfully woven together like one might have hoped.

I watched it for four years - I'll say what I want I love a lot of the actors in it and it would be good if the writers weren't so insistent on shoehorning in so many characters just to please Disney.

While its no masterpiece OUAT is still generally enjoyable viewing. I'd say one more season for it is welcome but also enough.

Nothing official yet but Les Moonves said that CBS is currently planning on renewing all its freshman shows. So that bodes well for second seasons of "Supergirl," "Life In Pieces," "Code Black" and "Limitless."

Well none of them flat out bombed so no surprise. Besides some CBS shows are ending so...

Expect Code Black to still be cancelled based on its shortened episode order

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
That doesn't really mean anything anymore. It's not like the order was reduced. It was always 16 episodes because they have a ton that still has yet to air ("Rush Hour," "Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders," "The Odd Couple" and its second season, "Person of Interest" and its fifth season, etc.)

Jane the Virgin! Also, now that Crazy Ex-Girlfriend has been renewed for season 2, I'll catch up on it this summer.

The CW is the best. I love that they give almost all their shows a chance and also allow them to end on their own terms usually.

I'm glad for the fans, but I do wonder if all shows are full season renewals? I guess not. CW has more shows to premiere this season. And they will have new ones next season. Their scheduling might be interesting. Also how bad do you have to be to get canceled on CW???

"Reign" almost certainly is - they'll probably give it 13 episodes and air it during the summer like they do with "Beauty and the Beast." I'd bet "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is only 13 too. Their whole initiative they've been pushing the past couple of years is to have year-long programming so this makes sense and is in line with that. And it really isn't a shitty network anymore. I think it has an unprecedented number of female showrunners and producers which is a big rarity in the TV world, and almost everything they air at this point is fairly solid to great. I do hope this is the final season for "The Vampire Diaries" though. And they'll probably end "The Originals" too since it will be four seasons after this renewal.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
The CW is now easily the most critically acclaimed network and they seem to get it in terms of building a bigger brand, than just chasing the short term dollars

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
Agreed. Aside from the awards love they get from "Jane The Virgin" and "CGF" they also have "Arrow," "The Flash," "iZombie" and "The 100" which get a TON of critic love. They're doing great for a broadcast network on a pure quality level.

Supernatural and Vampire Diaries should end soon. Does Supernatural still have a strong viewership?
