Let's say DiCaprio, Brie Larson and Stallone and...um, McAdams? JJL? Supporting Actress is a crapshoot for me, especially since I haven't seen Carol yet. Just not Vikander.

McAdams is such a weird nominee, it honestly makes me worried about Spotlight winning. If voters saw her and thought it was Oscar-worthy, that speaks volumes about their overall enthusiasm for the film.

Which McAdams clip will they even show during the broadcast? She showed more emotional range in Wedding Crashers.

Oh, I did not see them. So many new and bumped threads. Apologies.

I believe an argument could theoretically be made for McAdams winning the Oscar tbh, ala Kim Basinger. If they really love Spotlight. I mean, probably not, but the possibility exists. She is the only Supporting Actress nominee in a Best Picture nominee, and it's a frontrunner at that.

For the record, I think she was wonderful in Spotlight. Does she go into screaming fits and yell a lot? No. But it's very lived in, grounded work.

McAdams' Oscar clip could be her meeting with the survivor at the coffee shop. "I am here because I want to tell this story RIGHT, because I CARE," etc.

We all know what Ruffalo's Oscar clip will be.

This will no doubt be the clip. Unless they go for the scene where she meets the priest at his front door, which is probably the best scene in the movie honestly.

That's fair, though it's telling that there are maybe just two short clips to choose from. Standing at a door and sitting at a cafe. Not exactly stunning stuff.

Lived in is fine though that typically doesn't win you Oscars. She could very well be the default winner, especially since The Hateful Eight imploded.

Supporting Actress is the only category this year where I think you could make at least one genuine argument for every single one of the nominees winning the award. Will be interesting what happens.
