 Re: The Good Dinosaur- WWW?
And there's little for kids to enjoy, really. WOM is probably pretty bad. It's probably a bit too... intense/depressing for kids under 10 or so. I told my fiance and a few of our friends that I heard that it's Pixar's most kid-friendly film before we saw it together, and we often looked over at one another during many scenes wondering if we saw the same film those people did. I rarely see people walk out of movies, but during our showing last month: A woman and her child walked out after Arlo's father died, saying, "Nope! Not this again", on her way out. AND a pair with another child walked out after the Pterodactyl ate the bunny.

 Re: The Good Dinosaur- WWW?
Even with SW releasing Disney could not save this one from dropping 59%. It does sound like "dumping" to me. This is the first Pixar movie not reaching $150m or for that matter $125m (which seems almost impossible to reach now).

It makes me wonder, if SW was another studio than Disney, would Good Dinosaur have dropped 65%? I can't imagine why it didn't remotely benefit from a $248 m OW from Disney at all.

Nah TGD would need about $700k or less to have a decent hold this weekend. I don't think Disney could have helped it. You have to remember that aside from SW, Alvin also opened this week and these movies no longer appeal to adults which is also one of the biggest reason the harsh drop for TGD. The WoM is just not there for it to handle competition.
