Re: Ex Machina
I saw the trailer here on wokj and knew I wanted to see it. Finally was able to see it and was mesmerized by it! The build-up was great and wonderful acting jobs all around. Nathan is able to take control of every situation to achieve his desired end (that Caleb think the AI was real), but he didn't realize how perfectly he had set up his beta-testing.

Re: Ex Machina
From a plot perspective holes can be picked in it, but I just enjoyed the interaction between the three characters and discussing Ava's conscienceness so much, probably one of my fave sci-fi films

Re: Ex Machina
This is underrated, easily one of the best I've seen this year.

Just bought this for a friend for Xmas - I'm pretty sure he hasn't seen it and I'm extremely confident he'll like it a lot.

Re: Ex Machina
This is still my favorite of this year, and probably won't be topped by anything as sci-fi is usually where my favorites come from. Well-acted, well-done story, pretty gripping from start to finish. I want a sequel, yet I don't. It was really a near-perfect movie My top 10 this year (so far) would probably be... 1. Ex Machina 2. TFA 3. Sicario 4. Kingsman 5. The Gift 6. Still Alice 7. Mockingjay Part 2 8. The Martian 9. It Follows 10. Trainwreck Honorable mentions: Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Furious 7, and Predestination An odd year, but it's ok I imagine The Revenant won't count for this year, so it probably won't change anything. I plan to still see Joy, The Big Short, and maybe Spectre before the year is over, so we'll see.

Re: Ex Machina
I'd put TFA and Ex Machina at 1 and 2 too! With FA edging it out slightly.

Re: Ex Machina
Yeah, it was a tough call for me. I just gave Ex Machina a few more points for being a little more original
