Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
Outside of shows like Walking Dead or Empire, I'm not sure anything is safe anymore. Having said that, I'm hoping for more beyond Season 1 of Supergirl, but I won't be devastated. I like the show more for Melissa Benoist on a weekly basis.

The Flash is safe and will be safe as long as it continues to DESTROY everything on Tuesday night.

Several shows are absolutely safe:
"Modern Family" "NCIS" "Empire" "The Walking Dead" "Arrow" "The Goldbergs" "The Middle" "Grey's Anatomy" "Scandal" "Gotham"
All of these are safe safe safe.

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
You take me too literally. And a lot of those shows have seen decline this season. Modern Family especially took a big hit this year. But shows like Walking Dead and Empire stand alone because of massive numbers against the odds of modern television. Even if a show like NCIS has more viewers, both TWD and Empire are more impressive. That's why I singled them out.

They would literally have a show every night of the week if they did that if Hawkgirl goes to series. Though I doubt they put any on Friday so probably CW would do some Hawkgirl/Supergirl "Girl's Night" shit or something.

That would perform much better than Crazy Ex-Girlfriend/Jane the Virgin on Mondays.

Keep The Flash, Arrow and League throughout the seasons and have half season shows with other characters?

http://deadline.com/2015/12/youre-the-w ... 201648752/"You're The Worst" has been renewed for a third season. I'm so happy! This season has been AMAZING and Aya Cash's performance is absolutely incredible and award-worthy - she can go from hilarious to absolutely heartbreaking at the snap of a finger. The arc her character is going through this season is so well-written and realistic.

THANK GOD. "The Leftovers" has been renewed for a third season. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-f ... nal-845724I don't even care that it's the last one since Lindelof asked them to end it. I'm just happy we'll get closure.

"Mike and Molly" has been cancelled and season 6 will be its last.
Completely expected since Melissa McCarthy had a six-season contract that kept her trapped on the show for this long. Now she's finally free to go do movies full-time.

Probably the most obvious "cancellation" of all time, I agree. There's no way Melissa McCarthy was going to keep doing this show beyond her contract with a red hot movie career.

She's been doing a great job of acting shocked and heartbroken at the cancellation. Obviously has to for the sake of her co-stars and people who worked on the show.

I don't think she would mind doing 13 episode seasons like this last one. It's a steady paycheck.

Why would CBS cancel it then, though?

I'm guessing they don't want to bother to renegotiate her paycheck as she would ask for a big rise?

TNT canceled Agent X, Legends, and Public Morals. Three failed entries in what I assume is a hunt for a Mr. Robot-type success story.
They renewed The Librarians, Major Crimes, and Murder in the First.

Well, "Legends" started well before "Mr. Robot"...

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
I was using Mr. Robot as an example of a well-received drama on a channel not associated with prestige, not saying any of those series were emulating Mr. Robot itself.

Another article implies that McCarthy wasn't the reason for "Mike & Molly"'s cancellation. http://deadline.com/2015/12/mike-molly- ... 201667941/

Re: Renewed, Cancelled or Hiatus Bound: 2015-2016 Edition
Quote: This funny actress acted sad when she found out that her television show was being cancelled. It was an appropriate reaction for her to express to the cast and crew and fans… although maybe not a completely genuine one. Now that she has busted out of the confines of regularly taped show, she is free to make more movies. More very highly-paid movies. In fact, she calculates that she will be able to take home twice as much money a year now. That’s not sad at all! Sad my ass
