INSIDE OUT opens in 40 markets this weekend while MINIONS opens in 4 (including Australia)...

Looking forward to see some great numbers...

Minions will beat Inside Out almost everywhere. Minions should clear $650 million overseas.

Minions should easily outgross a respectable total of IO. BTW here Minions is releasing in the June (the peak holiday period) whereas IO is releasing only in August. Its like the complete reverse of release dates from US.

Of course, Minions will beat Inside Out overseas. However, IO should still gross at least $350M+ overseas if Brave can get to $301.7m.

Here in Oz, Disney should have held back Inside Out until the September school holidays which they have done in the past. Sure, some $ would be lost due to piracy but nothing like the shortfall by going head to head with Minions.

Minions opened well here in Singapore. The trailers were much better than the movie.

I've heard from early reactions that while it's a good movie, the trailers give away the best parts.

The best parts are also first 15 minutes of the movie.

$124.2m Minions
$117.3m Inisde Out ($363.5m WW)

Here in Germany MINIONS (ca. 930,000 admissions) beat the opening of JURASSIC WORLD (903,141) despite temperatures around 100F...
With cinema friendly weather it could have been one of the biggest openings of all-time... (somewhere between 1.5m - 2m admissions)

I've been noticing this.

What's you take?

The school holidays are always insane. There is room for both films and I've noticed families are taking there kids to see both - probably about a week apart.

Interestingly - Inside Out has just claimed No.1 after 3 weeks. It's legs are better than that of Minions and there is a chance they end up just about tied in gross. Crazy.
