I haven't read this far into the series, so maybe it's hinted at more closely in the books. He is Azor Azah, his story is to save Westeros.

Jon's been my least favorite character on this show for a while now (mostly due to Kit's wooden performance) so I can't say I'm too upset by this.

AND OMFG WHO GIVES A SHIT ABOUT JON? THE ONE AND ONLY QUEEN GOT DRAGGED BY ALL OF KING'S LANDING Well he is lying. Actors do it all the time. Cumberbatch lied about being Khan. He is telling the truth in the sense that Jon Snow is dead only to be resurrected and become Azor Azai.

Lena Heady put on what's likely the best female performance on the show and on par with Peter Dinklage's trial scenes.
She SLAYED the walk.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Another thing I still think it is possible Winds of Winter will be out early next year. I know is editor seems to think so, I am guessing they probably have to play dumb with everything. They even left open that Stannis could still be alive, so they left the show on a cliffhanger. There only seems to be three truly dead characters with Jon likely being resurrected and Stannis a question mark.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Meh. I'm usually a tv show apologist but these last two weeks have been rough. The Jon death was so much better in the books. Having so many deaths before it really lessened the impact. Not killing Myrcella would have made the episode a lot more impactful.
At least Stannis got got. The only thing I regret is that the rest of his men stood by his side and died pointlessly. Like all of the other men who died in his name, pointlessly.
The Walk of Shame was the only great thing about the episode.

There only seems to be three truly dead characters with Jon likely being resurrected and Stannis a question mark. Yeah despite GRRM being GRRM - I really do think it will be out before Season 6. In regards to this episode. Still a lot to take on. I was most surprised by the Mycrella scene actually. Though not shocking I wasn't expecting her to be gone so quickly. The Walk of Shame was perfect in every way. So too the introduction of Robert Strong. The Battle of Winterfell - well that's what I thought happened. I just don't like the fact that Brienne is the one to put Stannis out of his misery. For the Watch - it hurt to watch it. As per Jedi Master Carr -there is no way known that Jon is dead. The way I look at it is that they've gone out of there way to show or imply two key things; 1. Jon's parentage (this season) 2. Thoros bringing back Beric a number of times (Season 3) And they have also NOT included two key things; 1. Mance being switched over (he's really dead) 2. LS So that can only lead to Jon being resurrected by Melisandre - who knows he's Azor Azai. And like Jedi - if they do kill him off in the show - I'm done with it as well.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
It was hard to tell because they tend to hide the actor's face when they use doubles. Anyhow, I know that its unlikely but Stephen Dillane deserves a supporting actor nomination.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
It was implied that Stannis was going to die anyways from the wound on his leg. Brienne just got the deliver the final blow. There's no reason to bring Stannis back, even if he does survive in the books.
Lena's face was CGI'd onto a body double apparently.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
The wound didn't look too bad so highly doubtful. If he does die, it would be due to the horrible writing done by both Davids who clearly have an agenda against Stannis because he seemed too conservative in the books.
Im kind of tired of them portraying Cersi as being sympathetic like they did with Shae. Alistir Thorne also got shafted because even though hes a dick, he would never participate in that stabbing.
I'm done with the show if Stannis does not come back and he is alive in the books. Yeah like we are looking forward to more Sand Snakes when they were barely in the books.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
He was bleeding really badly. The only way he'd be able to get out is if Brienne actively saves him, which would make even less sense. He's dead dead dead.
Jon will not be. I was wondering why they would have Beric and Thoros' storyline without Lady Stonehart, but now we know. No warging will be needed. Which is good. Ghost is too awesome to share a body with anyone.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
I'll post more thoughts later, but my prevailing thought is that the show has had two finales in a row with non-final deaths. Last year, The Hound, and now Stannis. TV has dictated that, unless the death is shown, we're supposed to believe it didn't happen.
If Jon is resurrected, it kind of takes away from the moment for me. Not to mention his entire death felt forced and unnecessary. I was sadly spoiled on that, but I was expecting better.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Jon's death reads better in the book.
Though - if he actually dies (show or book) its a stupid plot development that will ultimately hurt the story. All that time invested and he's killed off because "anyone can die this series" is actually cliché.

Just finished the finale which was easily the best episode of the season. The Cersei scene was honestly hard to watch and Lena Headey was amazing.

Since Martin has hinted at it, especially his parentage. Hopefully, the book will come out giving us a clear answer.

What Magnus said. Other than Hardhome, the whole season has been disappointing. It is the Batman & Robin of the series. The two Davids need to be flayed Bolton style or need to be put into the Walk of Shame for butchering this season because of their own biased agenda

Perhaps the best episode of the entire series (along with Castamere). Id put this season on par with Season 2. What made it more interesting for me is that there were surprises which as a book reader was welcome. Offcourse - the surprises weren't always good. They need to ensure this series does not turn into a series of shock moments just for the sake of having them in there.

 Re: Game of Thrones:Season 5
Yeah I know what you mean.I know I'm pissed by how Stannis is portrayed but they made it so anticlimatic, predictable and cliche that Brienne would be the one to off him. People were joking about Brienne killing him and the parody has come true. The great thing about the novels was that it was unpredictable and there was some logic to it. The whole "Beam me up Podrick" Brienne does not work since she can magically appear anywhere
