 DC People
I'm going to be around the area starting end of next week and thus I'll be in the city for a couple of days. I already have a lot planned but what are some cool other places I should check out?

 Re: DC People
In addition to the obvious museum and monument trips (I highly recommend the Newseum, btw, if that wasn't on your list before):
Nightlife in Adams Morgan, shopping in Georgetown.
I'd also highly recommend Arlington and Old Town Alexandria, which are easily reached by metro. Arlington is basically a cosmopolitan city in itself (as well as where I live), and Old Town is full of super cute restaurants, stores, buildings, etc, some right on the Potomac River (and it's also very historical needless to say).
My fave restaurant downtown is Founding Farmers on Pennsylvania Ave. (esp. for brunch), just keep in mind you have to make reservations or you'll wait like 3 hours for a table.
If you want a delicious, carnivorous experience: Honey Pig in Annandale, VA.

I might be spending some time in DC in early May.

 Re: DC People
The skillet cornbread and blue cheese bacon dates at Founding Farmers are worth the inevitable wait you'll have to endure.
