Re: Germany Box-Office Thread Pretty simple. When the release date was announced, the TV airing was scheduled for the 2nd week of December. This is of course way below the usual 4 month non-theatrical window. So the large chains didn't treat it as a regular movie and scheduled "event showings" instead.
The TV airing was postponed to January 2nd btw...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread So....admissions-wise this could be the worst year since the unification, right? When was the last time we had only three films above 3,000,000?!
There is really no excuse why films like Maleficent, Godzilla, Interstellar, American Hustle, Edge of Tomorrow or Who am I? didn't do better. All of these would have been much bigger hits ten years ago.
