Maleficent casts, 22 Jump Street arrests, The Fault in Our Stars lives, How To train Your Dragon 2 soars, and Transformers 4 fights their way to 100 million, possibly in a weekend for Transformers.

$100 Million movies of 2014
Rank - Movie - Number of days to reach the mark - Date on which they reached the mark
1. Ride Along - 23 - February 8
2. The LEGO Movie - 9 - February 15
3. 300: Rise of an Empire - 24 - March 30
4. Divergent - 14 - April 3
5. Mr. Peabody and Sherman - 30 - April 5
6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 4 - April 7
7. Rio 2 - 22 - May 2
8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 5 - May 6
9. Noah - 48 - May 14
10. Godzilla (2014) - 4 - May 19
11. Neighbors - 15 - May 23
12. X-Men: Days of Future Past - 4 - May 26
13. Maleficent - 8 - June 6

Maleficent casts a spell over movie goers and the box office and reaches this mark in 8 days.

22 Jump Street way outopens its predecessor and captures 100 million in 9 days.

The Fault in Our Stars recovers from its initial frontloadedness and travels not to Amsterdam , but the century club in 18 days.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 flew higher than its predecessor opening weekend, but not nearly as high as expected and disappointingly takes 12 days to reach the mark.

Transformers: Age of Extinction may or may not have fought its way to 100 million in 3 days, but nonetheless it clobbered the mark as fast as expected.

Upcoming movies in this list Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Edge of Tomorrow

Leaving quietly A Million Ways to Die in the West, Jersey Boys, Think Like a Man Too, Deliver Us From Evil

Tammy could reach this mark, but it is unlikely.

And with that Monday hold, I'll say Tammy won't make 100 million.

Tammy was never getting there. It had an inflated weekend so there was no chance for it getting there even with summer weekdays

if it somehow managed amazing legs, it could have gotten there. We;re the Millers only made slightly more in its 5 day, and that made 150 million. But now it is obvious it won't have amazing legs.

Yes but the crowd reaction of Tammy wasn't good. The market is not empty of comedies right now. All these factors contribute to having good legs.

Apes should pass this today, and hopefully either Planes or Sex Tape or both will pass this mark eventually, though it should be just barely for both. It also looks like Lucy will pass this mark.

I doubt any of this weekend's films will pass $100m. Neither will Lucy.

Lucy is not yet sure to cross this mark. Even if its a breakout it can do $90m and still be a big hit for the type of film it is.

I think Salt numbers are looking very possible for Lucy.

Apes together are strong enough to pass the 100 million mark in a weeks time

$100 Million movies of 2014
Rank - Movie - Number of days to reach the mark - Date on which they reached the mark
1. Ride Along - 23 - February 8
2. The LEGO Movie - 9 - February 15

6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 4 - April 7
7. Rio 2 - 22 - May 2
8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 5 - May 6
9. Noah - 48 - May 14
10. Godzilla (2014) - 4 - May 19
11. Neighbors - 15 - May 23
12. X-Men: Days of Future Past - 4 - May 26
13. Maleficent - 8 - June 6
14. 22 Jump Street - 9 - June 21
15. The Fault in Our Stars -18 - June 23
16. How To Train Your Dragon 2 - 12 - June 24
17. Transformers: Age of Extinction - 3 - June 29
18. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 7 - July 17

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has ridden positive WOM to strong weekday grosses this week. It is 25 million ahead of its predecessor, which took 10 days to reach 100 million

Upcoming Movies Edge of Tomorrow, (Planes, Sex Tape and Lucy could make it possibly)

Leaving the list Tammy

It looks unlikely that any of this weekends movies will hit 100 million unless the Purge really strikes a chord with audiences.

None of them will make it. Unless Planes or Sex Tape develop great legs which isn't likely.

Even today Angelina is MUCH bigger than Scar Jo so I highly doubt Lucy will do those numbers. Also look at the numbers from EuropaCorp action movies. $90m in itself is a great result for it.

I think 30 million is a 50% chance and 35 million is a 25% chance.

It is now 100% certain none of this weekend's openers will reach this mark.

Lucy should get here in 3-4 weeks as well. Get on Up also has a tiny chance, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Guardians cross the galaxy to 100 million in eye popping warp speed.

$100 Million movies of 2014
Rank - Movie - Number of days to reach the mark - Date on which they reached the mark
1. Ride Along - 23 - February 8
2. The LEGO Movie - 9 - February 15

6. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 4 - April 7
7. Rio 2 - 22 - May 2
8. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - 5 - May 6
9. Noah - 48 - May 14
10. Godzilla (2014) - 4 - May 19
11. Neighbors - 15 - May 23
12. X-Men: Days of Future Past - 4 - May 26
13. Maleficent - 8 - June 6
14. 22 Jump Street - 9 - June 21
15. The Fault in Our Stars -18 - June 23
16. How To Train Your Dragon 2 - 12 - June 24
17. Transformers: Age of Extinction - 3 - June 29
18. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 7 - July 17
19. Guardians of the Galaxy- 4 - August 4

Guardians of the Galaxy is truly surprising at the box office after it looked like a possible bomb so many moths ago. The summer crown is likely, 250 million is almost guaranteed and 300 million is 't out of the question with CA2 weekends and summer weekdays

Upcoming Movies on this list Lucy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Leaving this list Hercules, Get On Up

Just realised Edge of Tomorrow hasn't made it yet. Surely it will get pushed over?

Edge of Tomorrow just started its dollar run and it is 1.1 million away. With Labor Day, it should get there.
