I just killed a lepidodactylus lugubris
They come into our flat sometimes. Not one has left our flat alive.

Gecko's are awesome. I always leave them be. They eat mosquitos and other small insects.

But we don't have any mosquitos or small insects inside the house. I'm fine with them being in our garden, just not in our bed! I actually felt sorry for the poor bastard when i started reading up on them. But anyway, he's flushed down the toilet now, and there's nothing that we can do.

Re: I just killed a lepidodactylus lugubris
Mosquitoes weren't much of a problem until Tiger Mosquitoes somehow got here a couple of years ago. They're native to Southeast Asia I think. Our regular ones were only a nuisance for a month or two during a summer, but the Tiger ones seem to be resistant to cold weather and they bit all year round. And it seems like I'm slightly more allergic to their bites because I get really bad reactions. So any animal eating them is my friend.

But this one yesterday I just grabbed him with a tissue and threw him down the toilet. There's not much to them. They need to learn the rules; STAY OUT OF HUMAN HOMES. Humans win, yet again!

The animal kingdom got me back later that day when all of these little insects started stinging my hands. Now my hands are all red and bloated.

Good. I'm glad. You deserved that. I currently have an animal intruder sitting on my lap trying to stop me from typing so I can pay more attention to him. Damn cat keeps darting inside when I'm carrying groceries in or taking trash out. I haven' fed him because I don't want to give him the wrong idea and he seems to be well fed anyway. Must belong to a neighbor and just likes to visit me. I'm going to have to put him back outside in the cold so I can go to bed.

I'll continue to kill geckos, though.

Re: I just killed a lepidodactylus lugubris
Why?
I don't kill geckos in other peoples' houses. Just my own. I call it 'trespassing'. Call me old fashioned.
