Re: Last Vegas
I loved it. Dam I've missed Kevin Kline, he is hilarious in the film. The story and plots of each character is screenwriting 101, but there are more than enough jokes to keep it afloat, and it's always great to see these guys having fun. These guys are pros and bring even the simplest plots a little more depth. Seeing DeNiro get a male strippers' balls thrusted in his face though is worth the price of admission alone. Bet he never thought that would ever happen in his career. I'd be down for a sequel.

Re: Last Vegas
Last Vegas was quite a lot of fun with a surprisingly effective little story. It's no miracle of moviemaking, and there's some wacky pacing, but it still gets the job done. The leads are all great, riffing on their historicharacters - - with the one horrifying exception: What in the world happened to Mary Steenburgen's face?!?!? I have always been a fan of her, but her face now appears frozen and stretched into a frighteningly cheery Kabuki death mask. Her voice is still as charming as ever, but I almost had to look away when she was on screen. Her face is horrendous to behold. I seem to remember her looking gracefully aged on Curb Your Enthusiasm, so why, Mary... WHY!!!!! I'm altogether happy I went to see it, and wouldn't mind seeing a high-minded sequel to this pleasant little comedy. 6 out of 5.

LAST VEGAS
This was a decent comedy. It felt like it was strictly for the aging babyboomer crowd. I did enjoy Freeman the most. I was really surprised at how old Douglas looked in this film. Overall, I had a good time and was entertained.

Last VegasWell that was a fun film. There were a few laughs, a heartfelt emotional ending, and lots of fun inbetween, plus I can always enjoy watching greats like De Niro, Douglas and Freeman doing their thing. Lots of hot girls in the movie also added a bit of eye-candy for us younger viewers. The best laugh came from Kevin Kline (as did most of the laughs actually) when he said "a blowjob wouldn't be out of the question". Very funny. Also, the 50 Cent scene was quite good. Good, but no need for a sequel. Much better than Stand-Up Guys, but on the whole I'm liking this resurgence in OAP comedy films of the last few years. Now I cannot wait to watch Grudge Match - as if I ever could!! B+

Re: Last Vegas
Pretty harmless film with a once A-listers cast. It's actually the least blockbuster member of the oldies, Kevin Kline, who steals most of the scenes. He's pretty neat, while the rest more or less just meanders through the scenes. Not that it's ever bad, they know the ropes and the end result is pretty jolly, just not very inspiring. It's a workmanlike comedy with enough of an angle, oldies having fun in Vegas, to be better than average.
