The Terminal, with 1941 right behind it.

Looks like 1941 and The Terminal are leading the way with a massive 4 votes a piece out of 23 votes. Should I do someone else in this thread, or just make another?

Screw it, I'll just keep it in here.

Steven Spielberg- 1941, Terminal (Tie)
Hook, AI, and War Horse all behind by 1

The King of Comedy.

No point even including classic greats like Cape Fear. Waste of a choice, in my opinion.

Damn! Wish I could change my vote. Didn't even see Bringing out the Dead there. That movie is on my worst list. The King of Comedy is just so-so, not terrible like Bringing out the Dead.

You can change the vote now ;)

Damn...none of those films is really BAD, though a couple are overrated.

I suppose I'll go with Kundun as the most boring one.

On to Martin Scorcese: I haven't seen a lot of his earlier work, other than the big successes, but like Spielberg there is always something positive to say about most of Scorcese's films. Hopefully you guys don't fight too much on here, there are a lot of great movies here, and it's nearly impossible to pick. I don't think Scorcese has ever directed a non fresh film on rotten tomatoes yet.

This one is pretty tough for me. It will most likely come down to his most mainstream of films: Shutter Island, Cape Fear, or Color of Money. But I love Color of Money and Cape Fear, but it's still worst then the original. I'm one of the few that enjoyed Shutter Island and can watch it over.

I guess I'm going with Cape Fear just because its not as good as the original. Still the maid scene is one of the creeepiest and most inventive things Scorcese has ever done.

Haven't seen about half of his films, but of the ones I've seen, I'd go with Gangs of New York.

How is New York, New York not on the poll?

Bringing Out the Dead is my favorite of his films, then The Age of Innocence and Raging Bull. Just for the record.

How is Cape Fear tied for first? Cape Fear was a great movie. I voted for Kundun I never watched the whole thing but couldn't get through it.

Mean Streets is also not great. But also not on the poll. I think putting Goodfellas on the poll, a universally liked movie, is pointless.

The absence of New York, New York, with its justified reputation as his disaster project, proves the poll was compiled without care or thought.

Maybe just replace Goodfellas with New York New York? No one in their right fucking mind would vote for Goodfellas.

Use the other option. You have 20 options, rather than just putting the universally accepted disliked films, I had to put some good ones on there. Let's face it, Scorsese hasn't made a bad movie. Use the other option and state your case.

If that were true, this thread would be pointless. Plenty of people dislike Scorsese films.

For the record, Kundun is underrated and quite lovely.

Of course there are always detractors. But I still think it's more interesting to pick the worst out of a bunch similar rated films then everyone continuously spouting out their #1 films without any discussion.

I didn't forget it. I had never seen it, it still had a fresh score on rotten tomatoes. I just tried to pick a few films from each decade that didn't to spread out, since I was running out of spaces. I picked Alice doesn't live here anymore instead. I might have to check it out though, I've honestly never seen a single film Liza Minelli has ever been in.

Onto Eddie Murphy, he's certainly on the other side of the spectrum. Nowadays for every good Murphy film there are two average to piss poor. I'd have to say that Imagine that is probably his worst film, but my vote easily goes to Beverly HIlls Cop 3. I loved the first two so much it was the comeback film Eddie needed, he brought in John Landis, in which the two of them made two of the funniest films ever. Not only is it not funny, the action is bad, and Eddie is not even playing a character in the film.

Eddie Murphy's worst directed film? Hmm, it's going to be impossible to choose.
