 Movie 43
Movie 43 Quote: Movie 43 is a 2013 American anthology comedy film co-directed and produced by Peter Farrelly, and written by Steve Baker, Rocky Russo, and Jeremy Sosenko among others. The film features fourteen different storylines, each one done by a different director including Elizabeth Banks, Steven Brill, Steve Carr, Rusty Cundieff, James Duffy, Griffin Dunne, Patrik Forsberg, James Gunn, Bob Odenkirk, Brett Ratner, Will Graham, and Jonathan van Tulleken. It stars one of the biggest ensemble casts ever in film, including Halle Berry, Gerard Butler, Anna Faris, Hugh Jackman, Johnny Knoxville, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, and Kate Winslet among others. The film was shot over a period of several years, and was released on January 25, 2013. The film has been universally panned by critics, some stating it is the worst movie ever made.

MOVIE 43
What can I say? This is the worst movie I've ever seen. If one can even call it a movie. It's like a really bad SNL episode with 2 funny skits. At least with SNL you can see it for Free. That's the only way I'd recommend you see this thing is if you can watch it for FREE.
Okay, the only funny bits for me were the Hugh Jackman balls on his neck sketch and Grace Moretz having her period. Everything else was just Shit. Even that black sketch at the almost end was barely funny. You're black, they're white. It was funny in the trailer but after sitting through the nonsense the previous hour and what not it barely registered for me. Ugh. I just don't know how this thing got to even open in theatres. I can only guess that someone has something on somebody or someone owed someone their first born. It's that unbelievable. This is like a ScyFy D film opening in theatres across america. I can't figure it out.
Anyway, the thing is dreadful. Dreadful and horrible and most surprisingly Unfunny for what is supposed to be a comedy. The last bit with the animated cat left me shaking my head. I didn't walk out on this movie. I've only done that for the Uma Thurman Avengers film but I sat through this trash and I just have to hope I can spare anyone the money if they have urge to waste it on this thing.

 Re: Movie 43
Thse who are curious what this film contains, but don't want to see it, here's a short listing of some of the stuff you'd see: - Hugh Jackman's growing balls from his neck and in one scene they are on a baby's head and later, in Kate WinsletA's face
- Josh Duhamel is face-raped by an animated cat. The cat later masturbated by shoving a hairbrush up its butt, whole watching Duhamel and Elizabeth Banks getting it on
- Naomi Watts makes out with her son, whereas Liev Schreiber (who plays her husband), also makes a move on his son.
- Halle Berry injects hot sauce into her vagina and blends guacamole with her breast
- Chloe Grace Moretz is having her first period (in white pants), while everyone around her laughs at it and finds it disgusting
- Jason Sudeikis plays Fake Batman who goes in lengths looking under Kristen Bell's (Supergirl skirt and talking about her vagina
- Bobby Cannavale plays Superman who uses his Super-Sperm as hair gel
- Robin (Justin Long) makes out with The Riddler (disguised as Supergirl) And a lot more...

Was this movie some sort of an experiment to test the R rating or something? Why did so many big names work on it?

 Re: Movie 43
Honestly, some of this movie was really funny. Some skits were pretty good (the leprechaun skit, the Naomi Watts skit, Kate Winslet's skit and Anna Faris' skit) and some were good (the Richard Gere skit) but when it was bad, it was really bad. The whole thing with Dennis Quaid brought the movie down so much it's ridiculous and the commercials were really stupid too. The two worst skits were easily the Terrance Howard one and the one with Emma Stone, they were just... Ugh. :p The few bright spots of Movie 43 don't save it, but it isn't completely horrible. I had a few decent laughs. It's definitely worth a rental.
Oh, and I also heard there was a skit with Elizabeth Banks and a cartoon cat or something? This was nowhere to be found here. I heard this was the last skit, but the last skit was the one with Terrance Howard one, so I'm not sure if that skit was in a different version of the film or what. She was nowhere to be found, though I noticed in the credits she did direct one of the skits.

 Re: Movie 43
Ummm, I just found out that there are different versions of Movie 43. There was no Dennis Quaid framing device in the version I have seen. The frame story was about some teens looking for the forbidden Movie 43 on the internet and thus causing the end of the worls. So no Greg Kinnear or Dennis Quaid in my version. The Elizabeth Banks skit was midway through the credits. http://www.flickfilosopher.com/blog/201 ... ons_o.html

 Re: Movie 43
Yeah, I've heard about that and I was wondering what the differences were. That sounds better than the US version. It was terrible. Quaid was pretty much this crazy guy who wanted to get the script for his film bought, and he holds Kinnear at gun point to listen to it. How stupid for them to put a skit in the middle of the credits. I left in the middle of the blooper real because it just wasn't funny.

 Re: Movie 43
It definitely would have been better if they were just skits that weren't connected in any way, IMO. I still can't believe I found the Anna Faris skit funny. It wasn't perfect or anything and the black guy in it was really annoying, but as far as gross out humor goes, it was pretty humorous, but that was mainly thanks to Faris, "you love me this much? This is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen!"

Apparently it only cost 6 million to make. Looks like it was shot over 4 years, and whoever was directing just asked some friends over one day and put something together for each skit.

 Re: Movie 43
Jesus Christ is it a fucking train-wreck. The only sketch that flat out worked for me was the second one with Liev Schreiber and Naomi Watts. It was funny and it was the closest thing to being even remotely clever. There are a couple of other bright spots in some of the other sketches that made me laugh, but holy shit the amount of duds in this thing. They even start the movie with the worst sketch. And what the hell was the point of the framing device if they weren't even going to finish it? I've never seen something done so lazily or haphazardly. And then to tease the end of the movie with credits only to stop them and do one more sketch. At least it was somewhat interesting because James Gunn is fucked in the head, but even that falls flat. Peter Farrelly must have a lot of dirt on these fucking people. Maybe he owns Richard Gere's gerbil? (D-)

 Re: Movie 43
I found it amusing. Not nearly as bad as people made it out to be. Though I can absolutely understand people not liking it. I definitely laughed at times. And oddly enough I found that Elizabeth Banks skit during the credits with the cat to be fairly funny.

At least when Seltzerberg puts out crap like this it takes them maybe a month to film everything.

Movie 43
This might just be the biggest accomplishment in the history of motion pictures. How they managed to get Kate Winslet, Hugh Jackman, Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Emma Stone, Kristen Bell, Jason Sudeikis, Uma Thurman, Halle Berry, Stephen Merchant, Kate Bosworth, Chloe Moretz, Johnny Knoxville, Sean William Scott, Gerard Butler and Richard Gere to appear in this absurd load of shit is nothing short of incredible.
I just cannot get my head around why so many actors would have agreed to be part of this "movie". It's the sort of stuff that should have been made into shorts on YouTube, not into a fucking movie that exhibits in cinemas.
That being said, there were some funny moments. The first scene with Kate Winslet and Hugh Jackman is kind of hilarious, and a few other bits and pieces throughout, but it's largely just shit. The Tampon advertisement was cool, but I found myself laughing a lot of the time in an 'I can't believe they got those stars to do this shit' sort of way. Brett Ratner and one of the Farrely brothers also directed a few segments. I just don't get it.
The only one that I can imagine in this sort of movie would be Anna Faris. Her sketch wasn't too bad either. It wasn't funny, but it was at least bearable due to the barbecue scene. What the fuck was that Emma Stone sketch all about? Fucking weird. The Naomi Watts one was truly weird too.
This is not a movie. It's a load of sketches. It's an experiment to puzzle people. It's dire. That being said, I'd rather watch this again than ever see White House Down, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Star Trek Into Darkness, No One Lives, After Earth, Mama, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone or Fast & Furious 6 again.

I found some of the skits quite funny (Hugh Jackman's balls, the homeschooled kid, some girl's first period, the black basketball players, and the cartoon cat). If the naughty side of you enjoys some crude humor, this is for you. And if you like Kentucky Fried Movie or Passolini's Arabian Nights trilogy, you'll probably enjoy this.
