 Re: November 21-25 Predictions
I wonder how well Hitchcock will do in 17 theatres. It looks pretty high-profile, so I'm thinking at least $30,000 PTA opening weekend.

Yes Hitchcock should do well but somehow I think the marketing isn't very strong for it and the competition around is HUGE for it break out really big but I suppose it should do close to $30,000 PTA.

 Re: November 21-25 Predictions
Hitchcock won't do AMAZING, certainly. The reviews are not strong enough, and there is plenty of competition for the niche audience: Life of Pi, Lincoln, Anna Karenina, Silver Linings Playbook, Flight, and Skyfall. Upscale adults are well, well served right now, both at the art-house and the multiplex. I expect a per-theatre average around 20 to 25k.
In its favor: it seems fairly crowd pleasing, so I expect the reception will be warmer among audiences than critics.

Looks like I was correct. People are not keeping away from Red Dawn just as they didn't keep away from the trash that I mentioned earlier. Yanks and their terrible taste. How much longer will Yanks be the laughing stock of the world?

Damn, Rust and Bone is expanding slowly: http://sonyclassics.com/rustandbone/dates.htmlIt won't play outside NYC/LA until December 21st, when it will have a huge expansion. Might not a more measured expansion be wiser?

 Re: November 21-25 Predictions
Seems pretty measured to me. On 21st Dec it's not adding THAT many. It adds more on 12th Jan, then more later on, then a few more in Feb. Seems gradual.
