Increase over OW is a given. The WW total should be close to New Moon's even in OS I believe but maybe a slight increase to $450m OS this time.

I guess Summer had an effect for Eclipse's opening? Not sure though how to compare between Summer and November release specially in France.

Some early international numbers are coming in for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2. It's all good news:

Deadline.com reports that Breaking Dawn - Part 2 has already grossed $1.8 million in France, $264K in the Netherlands, $362K in Sweden and $531K in Belgium. Part 2 is outpacing Part I in all those territories.

THR.com reports that Part 2 is also off to a strong start in Italy with $2.8 million on its first night. That's enough to push Part 2 past The Avengers for the distinction of 2012's best opening day in Italy.

Nikki's update

Quote:
FRANCE – The official preview numbers came in from France which opened earlier this week. First night attendance was 219,000 which translates to €1.4M ($1.8M). This result is 45% higher than Breaking Dawn Part 1’s 150,000 preview admissions. Their BD1/BD2 marathon alone brought in 25,000 admissions.

THE NETHERLANDS – Netherlands results are a record for the franchise. Some 50 screens pulled in 21,000 admissions (with some theaters still missing) for a gross of €309K ($392K) for the highest pre-day opening for the franchise. By comparison, Eclipse brought in €216K ($264K) and Breaking Dawn Part 1 €151K ($218K).

SWEDEN – Sweden had 20,000 marathon/midnight admissions which is the highest for the franchise in this territory. The box office generated 2.5M SEK ($362K). Eclipse had 17,000 admission followed by New Moon with 15,000 and Breaking Dawn Part 1 with 13,000.

BELGIUM – Belgium had a sensational night of marathons and double features and took in approximately 27,000 to see the new film. That equals €418K ($531K). To compare, Breaking Dawn Part 1 had 13,000 admissions for €228K ($289K).

$13.8m from Wednesday alone.

Quote:
The overseas rollout started in France, Italy, The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland (French and Italian speaking areas), and Sweden. Pic has already grossed an estimated $13.8 million from Wednesday, the first day of release. It set single day opening records for 2012 in Italy and France with other territory estimates still reporting. But all the territories set the best single day opening for the franchise

And Germany is still ahead where it'll make at least $35-40 million. Looks like this one will break $500 million overseas even with frontloading.

Those are big numbers. Looks like WW this one will easily beat franchise record. Domestically its not yet sure to cross Eclipse's $300m total though I still feel it will make more than New Moon or equal it.

$900m WW total seems doable IMO. BD2 will get from domestic market is $65m (could get some more if it gets to $300m). Getting another $250m seems like an ask but it could do that if it holds well next weekend.
