Re: Holy Motors
I admire this film's whimsical atmosphere, as well as its outsize visual invention (the motion-capture scene is wild) and the diverse performance(s) of its leading man. Nor do I mind the fact it is designed to confound, tease, and disrupt the audience's various expectations rather than satisfy our desire for an answer to the mystery. I must admit, though, I found it rather distancing and exhausting after awhile. It is amusing and frightening and stylish and unique, no doubt, but I do not regard it as this perfect and rapturous monument to cinema the way others do. Alas, maybe I am a tad too square.

Re: Holy Motors
Though I love performance art and esoteric foreign films - - I didn't enjoy Holy Motors at all.

Re: Holy Motors
This strikes me as one of those films I will eventually want to revisit. I was totally into this film up until a certain point (that being the accordion number), but after that I wasn't feeling this film much at all.

Re: Holy Motors
Netflix blurred out the boner. Annoying. Loved the film anyway.
