The Room

Quote:
The Room (2003) is an independent film written, produced, and directed and executive produced by Tommy Wiseau. It is the melodramatic story of a love triangle between a man, his fiancée, and his best friend. The principal cast includes Wiseau, Juliette Danielle, Greg Sestero, Philip Haldiman, Carolyn Minnott, and Robyn Paris. Without any studio support, Wiseau spent over $6 million on production and marketing for the film. After a brief run in Los Angeles, the film went on to develop a cult following in the city, because of its perceived unintentional humor. It continues to have monthly midnight screenings. Wiseau promotes the film as a black comedy and insists that the “unintentional” humor is intentional, although audience members generally doubt this.

On April 1, 2009, the movie aired on Adult Swim at midnight and 2:30am EDT as the channel's annual April Fool's joke.

This movie honestly defies any kind of potential grade, or description. Not even YouTube clips can really do it justice. It just has to be experienced.

Highly recommended.

I really want to see this one. I definitely don't want to watch it by myself though.

Don't. I watched it with five other people (Three of whom had seen it many times before), and that made so much of the experience.

How can anyone watch this movie multiple times? I rented this because I thought I had read somewhere that celebs were fans of this film but I don't get it. The movie is just bad and boring. I'm glad I didn't watch it with a friend of mine because I'm sure he'd think less of my movie quotient.

As I'm about to stop this movie, Johnny's best friend is almost a dead ringer for Spencer Pratt. Also, the girl reminded me of a Britney Spears lookalike. Danny reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino ringer too.

Enough is enough with this ridiculous rental.

grade - F

Update 20-30 minutes later

:funny: He just did his chip chip chicken sounds. This movie...

Took me about 10 minutes. I was trying to give it a chance even though it just drops you right into the story, but the first part is just some talk then a sex scene with R%B music and it rinse repeats that a couple times before I had had enough yet I still ended up watching the whole damn mess.

This film it is amazing in how bad it is At first i thought it was a spoof of like Melrose Place or something, but it's truly bad with wooden acting, and out of left field stuff that pops in. I mean there is just so much wrong in any given scene. And I love that, no one can make a film intentionally this bad. If only this guy made more stuff, he's not lame like Uwe Boll, he could definitely be another Ed Wood.

This movie can't be rated. But I laughed my ass off the entire time.

He'll be here in St. Louis on Friday night, July 20. TDKR and Tommy Wiseau in one 24-hour period? I don't think I can handle myself.

You don't even need a big crowd to enjoy this. Just getting a few friends together can be a wonderful experience. I remember watching this with a friend on her laptop, and about an hour into it we had attracted at least five more people over to watch it with us just through the movie's sheer...qualities.

Really one of the best and worst movie ever created.

So yeah, I went to one of those screenings a couple summers ago, where Wiseau showed up. He played football with the audience. And by the time the movie was over, the front row was flooded with spoons. One of the best theater experiences ever.

During the Q&A, I asked him if he was going to run for president, and this was his response:
"I would, because I live heeuh, but my birf certificate is... *awkward pause*... somewhere else, so I'd have to wait for them to change the wules a bit. I no cheat lyke Obamuh".

Greg Sestero shows up sometimes as well.
