Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
That $50m was from 13 markets only, WOW! I thought it was from like 26 markets. HUGE numbers. If it makes $275m or comes close to $300m domestically I think $1b WW is very doable. The only problem is TDKR which shouldn't be as big of a problem in OS markets for Spidey.

Imagine Spidey joining The Avengers next time out. Would be absolutely mega OS!

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
^ Absolutely they should have Spidey join Avengers and we will see close to Titanic OS numbers (including the re-release).

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
Spiderman in TA films would likley not increase the domestic gross much...
However it would mean likely 1 billion overseas.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
TA2 with inflation itself will reach $1b OS total for sure. TA itself will cross $900m OS total with Japan IMO or will be very close to it and it was very well liked. I know a lot of people comparing TDKR and Spiderman to Avengers in terms of action to evaluate those movies.
If Spidey comes in 3rd movie then I see $1.5b OS gross for sure.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
It would likely also mean a gurantee in keeping the domestic gross stable or even to make it go higher.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
It was released in 74 markets so not many new ones will be left. I thought it could have done $150m or so with so many new markets. Are there any big markets left for its release?
With $200m OS I see it making another $200m and maybe $450m OS as of now if there are some new markets then probably $500m OS. Didn't think it will do less than $600m.

BOM says TASM releases in 15 new markets next weekend. It need another $100m weekend to see a good total. Not sure how many of those markets are big ones though.. It needs to get close to $400m OS before TDKR doable as it is already has $200m OS total. If it gets close to $100m next weekend then $550m is a done deal and $600m is possible.

Dr. Lecter wrote: What's up with Ted? Is Family Guy that popular? Not really. Its a cult hit but nothing crazy. Ted just really caught on. Its also mid year school holidays so university and high school students would also be flocking to it. To get the equivalent of the US performance of films just x10.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
Expected that big drop for Spidey this weekend with IA4 taking many of its 3D screens. So we are looking at $550m OS and about $270m for $820m WW total.

These low numbers were kinda expected with TDKR and IA4 both doing great.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
Here in Oz Spidey will make less than Prometheus, Snow White and MIB3. It will be the equivalent of $175m in North America.

unspectacular performance really. But not really surprising since it is a reboot and had massive competition from TDKR

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
Has to opened in all the major territories so far?
If it has, that's a bit of a disappointing total, considering the SM3 increase and 3D. Still big obviously and it justifies a second movie...but I thought it had $500 million in the bag.

Re: The Amazing Spiderman (INTL.)
Well, there is still China left which will probably provide at least $20-25 million.
Overallm, this will finish with around $465-480 million overseas, unless it breaks out in China and $730-750 million worldwide. I think that is very impressive for a reboot that so many people considered unnecessary and rolled their eyes at. It also most likely ensures that the second film will make $900+ million worldwide.
