Harden also had a really off night. And that certainly didn't help in the third when Durant and Westbrook were sitting out for most of it.

For a guy that AVERAGES 2 fouls a game for his career, is it not at least FISHY that Durant has been in foul trouble in the two most important games of his career?

Post Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
I never got a chance to say it because I was away on vacation and without internet, but although I was disappointed with the loss, I couldn't have been happier and prouder of the Celtics run this year. They just ran out of gas in that fourth quarter. It'll be interesting to see what Ainge does. I wouldn't be against keeping everyone around for another year and add Jeff Green, Chris Wilcox, and Avery Bradley into the mix (if Bradley's healthy I think they beat Miami, but I can't complain while seeing how the Bulls completely collapsed without Rose) and see what happens, but I'm not sure if they could last through 82 games, let alone the 100 plus it would take to win another title. But with the way KG revitalized himself during the playoffs, I think it might be an option.

As for the finals, if Miami wins tonight they'll close it out in five. If not, it's going the full seven. Getting Bosh back seems to have given Miami an extra boost. That and with all the mistakes they've made, OKC just might not be quite ready to win a title yet.

Westbrook is trying to undo his amazing performance by making stupid fouls.

This series is over.

I still wouldn't count out OKC. It's not looking great, but most counted them out when they were down 2-0 against the Spurs and they won four straight. Heat are playing next level but still.

Harden seems to be really letting down OKC. Bricking open threes, jumpers, and lay-ups. Westbrook made a slight mistake, but it was nothing huge and at least he chipped in with a 40+ game.

Well that's it.

Forgive me I'm not confident they can win at Miami let alone 3 straight at this point. The only way they can win Thursday is if Lebron is not 100% because they've shown that Durant and Westbrook cant do it alone. Harden is a no show again. The only bench player being active was Collison tonight.

I'm still just lost how the thunder don't take advantage of a crippled Lebron the last two minutes before he went out for good. You are in the bonus. Either drive it with west or get it to Durant. Instead we get hesitating shot by harden, a kick to sefalosha and a blocked fisher shot. I'm more upset that Harden couldn't buy a bucket At All.that was more embarrassing for me than anything.

It's time for the other players on Thunder to step up like in the Spurs series, or they're done on Thursday. Durant is obviously not playing as well as he could (he's actually been uncharacteristically unclutch this series down the stretch), but he's still good for 25+ points each game. Westbrook might "shoot too much," but he's a scorer, so it's okay, as long as Durant gets the ball enough. Harden and Ibaka need to step it up.

Every game has been close. They can win this.

You just nailed it though, Magnus. OKC made it here because of their role players and performance in the clutch. Miami, meanwhile, has been notoriously bad in the 4th quarter of big games.

They look like the Thunder who got whupped by the Mavericks last year. They lost that series in 5 and will lose this one in 5 as well.

I hate Miami and would love to see them lose. It isn't happening.

Harden/Durant/Westbrook have not had a game yet where they all lit it up. Game 5 is their last chance.

Ugh.

I'm glad LeBron can finally win. He doesn't deserve all the hate and he's long overdue. He IS one of the greatest players either way, but it'd be nice to see him with a ring. And I think he'll have a mental breakdown if Thunder came back to win.

...but, I'm a KD fan. I want OKC to win this still. It's unlikely at this point but I'm still rooting for them. And if nothing else, I'm rooting for a 7-game series because this is AWESOME.

Let the partying begin in Seattle and the rioting in Cleveland because I think both of those series cared more about this series than Miami did.

I felt so bad for Kevin Durant. :(

I really hope he wins next year.

Oh, and Scott Brooks is such a great coach. His last timeout of the game, he told everyone what a great year they had, what they needed to do in the offseason, how the Heat won "fair and square," and to make sure to congratulate every single Heat player. A stand up guy, that Scott Brooks. And the OKC organization.

I disagree. Why does he have to go? Look how far OKC has come since Brooks took over. In Durant's rookie season, OKC still sucked. They acquired Westbrook next season and did a little better (Brooks took over mid-season). And since then, he's had three full seasons to coach. They went from getting to the first round (and losing to the champs - Lakers) in '10, getting to the Western Conference finals (and losing to the champs - Mavs) in '11, and finally getting to the finals and losing in '12. And the team is still SO young.

And now they've lost their first NBA finals trip. They didn't want it as bad as Heat did. Now they are going to kill for it. Durant's reaction said it all.

Post Re: NBA 2010-2011 Season
Brooks certainly has some blame for his strategy of matchups and player time during the finals but it really comes down to the players not performing. Brooks is a good coach and just throwing in another coach should they make the finals again and lose or make the playoffs and lose in an earlier round is not a solution. The solution is either better role players or players play better.

Brooks did not play Collison enough. Seriously.

Ibaka struggled MIGHTILY, and should have probably been swapped for Collison most of this series.

BUT... Durant is seriously going to be insanely great. He's just scratching the surface.

Our team is heading home between now and 2:00 and the road heading to the Airport is stuffed with traffic. I just heard that on the radio. Sounds like we'll have lots of people greeting the Thunder home.
