Maguire and Dunst were both very good, IMO. The upside down kiss is a brilliant superhero-movie moment. Throughout the second film, they expertly sell the romantic tension between the characters.

Unfortunately they were both betrayed by a third film as tone deaf as it was poorly conceived. They still did their best with awful scenes calling upon them to act in borderline surreal ways.

That kiss reminds me of:

Someone thinking KIRSTEN DUNST is > than ANYTHING IN THE WORLD...

Is very disturbing.

Dunst and McGuire are both fine, best in the first and slowly got worse as their roles/characters became more demanding. Garfield and Stone are both clearly superior actors and hopefully will work even better in this film, which still looks fantastic to me. I mean, if the movie really is bad they must have done an extraordinary editing job for the latest trailer.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.
