Is it an evil all powerful being formed? It isn't really evil. It is a shadow creature that has a purpose. If you want to be spoiled but there are hints there in the episode on what it will do. It is going to kill a certain king . It is dark magic but at this point you don't really know Melisandra's agenda.

The Black Magic parts in the show are weird but in the end some of the best parts.
Seeing the dragon in the end of the last season was beyond cool.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Question!
I'm reading Book 1 now and Illyrio says to that they in the Free Cities don't fear the Dothroaki because the Lord of Light would hold their city walls against a million of them, or so the red priests promise.
Clearly the Red Priestess currently advising Stannis worships the same Lord of Light, but does she, and all red priests (she is the only one revealed so far), originate from the Free Cities?
If the question can be answered without spoilers, I'd appreciate it.

That clears it up. Thanks for the quick reply!
I don't remember Illyrio mentioning either the Lord of Light or any red priests in the show.

I don't think they showed Thoros of Myr in the first season either.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
This is a great series so far. Better than Lord of the Rings, though I doubt most on wokj would agree with that.
But it suffers from not enough episodes per season and so stuff feels crammed in and rushed at times. I know it's expensive but 2 more episodes per season would help a lot and it's probably HBO's most popular show right now so I'm not sure why they wouldn't do that. The storytelling is great but needs more room to breathe.
I haven't read the books and have no idea what the future holds but it looks like Jon and Arya are the long term heroes and I have a feeling Robb will die because he made that mistake heroes always make: he should have killed Jaimie the first chance he got. Which is a shame because Robb came out of nowhere half way through season 1 to be one of the coolest characters.
The only characters I'm invested in are: the Starks (including Jon), Daenerys, and Tyrion. Also to a lesser extent: Jorah and Bronn. The rest of them, no big deal if they die, and I assume many of them will.

A.G - I agree that there should atleast be 12-13 episodes per season.
Book 3 is being broken up into 2 seasons (which will cover some of Book 2, Most of 3 and some of 4 and 5).

The Theon story arc is just brilliant though isnt it?
Great episode. The fact that they are moving briskly through the book is a great thing. Sometimes its too quick, like Littlefinger and Catelyn crisscrossing the continent like they are visting neighbours across the street - but no complaint from me. They are also livening up Dany's story in the show as well which is good IMO.

I think its going a bit too quick. They really need to start splitting the books into two seasons.

Re: Game of Thrones (HBO) | 1st Season - starts April 17th 2
Overall, great episode although I don't like how the whole Bran and Theon thing deviated alot from thebooks. It kind of ruins the introduction of the second most hated character in the books behind Joffrey when Rodrik wasnt supposed to be killed by Theon but that particular character. Still Im hoping they pull that one out because its supposed to be a very clever twist Ramsey disguised as Reek and being sent to bring 5k men Dinklage must win best supporting actor again this year. Hes got alot of material to submit and should write himself as lead character. Best line from this episode "We have vicious kings. we had idiot kings. But I dont know if we had ever been cursed with a vicious idiot as a king!"

They are probably going to introduce Ramsey in another way. He might also not appear until season 3. He was hinted at in the episode by his father so we will see him. I would also argue that Ramsey makes Joffrey look like a boy scout. I mean he flays people alive, rapes women and then does horrible things to them.

http://www.avclub.com/articles/hbo-is-p ... ing,73930/I wonder if HBO will considering changing their policies on content based on these numbers. If GOT was on just basic cable, I think it would smash even Walking Dead numbers. Everyone watches it; just not on HBO.

I still think those who illegally downloaded the shows should pay for the show in the future through dvd/bluray sales. It only helps and rewards the show so that they can have a much bigger budget to pull off the huge battle scenes. Currently, they cut alot of thing because the show is already expensive as it is. The pirates are one of the reasons why the show hasnt beaten True Blood in ratings right now

I'd be willing to buy a GOT package for HBO. Or buy episodes on iTunes if they make them available the morning after they air.
But I'm not going to buy HBO just for one show.

Thats the reason why it hasnt beaten TRue Blood in ratings even though they are both premium cable shows. Young male adults are more likely to be penny pinchers and illegally download than women. I'm very certain that more than half of the GOT viewers that pay for the show are women
