Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
First one got a good reaction in theaters, I'm sure this will get an even better one. I'm sold enough that it'll at least be better than the 2nd.
Should have no problem doing close to 90+ 4Day

Yep., this trailer has convinced it can overcome any stigma the second one had. Looks like a lot of fun.

Yep this one does look much better. The doubts on this not being big are all erased now.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
I'm sorry but this looks like the Rush Hour 3/Little Fockers of the Men In Black franchise. I mean lines like "I will straight up punch the shiznit outta Andy Warhol" do not give me confidence in this.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
but unlike RH3 or Mummy 3 or Little Fockers, MIB has Will Smith.

Yeah, Smith who's acting much weirder than he did in the first film. Smith's involvement does not automatically make this good.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
Yeah will most likely be the biggest of the series WW, maybe domestically if it opens high enough.

Isn't this the trailer review section where we primarily focus on the quality of the trailers and save the box office projections for the box office section?

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
True, but from your post Little Fockers/ Rush Hour 3 are talked about more about their huge drop off in box office not quality. There is almost no way this will be worst then the 2nd film.

There is almost no way this will be worst then the 2nd film. I have to disagree. I think Rush Hour 3 and Little Fockers are pretty well talked about for their drop off in quality as well after an already inferior second installment. And do you really think this will be better than the second? The pieces don't seem to be in place for that to happen. While the second wasn't well liked, it wasn't colossally hated either, which gives this one room to be worse. And with lines like the one I just mentioned, it could very well be. With the exception of Brolin doing his spot on Jones impression, everyone else looks like they're completely phoning it in, more so than in the second.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
The first Men in Black was wonderfully clever fun. Men in Black 2 was awful.... And I wouldn't be surprised if this one is the worst of all.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
Another thing. Men In Black thus far has relied on Smith and Jones, not just Smith. Even though Brolin is embodying Jones, Jones himself doesn't look like he's got a lot of screen time this time around for obvious reasons. It looks like more like a Smith show this time around, and with Smith behaving more like a weirdo than in the previous installments, I think this film will suffer for it quality wise.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
I don't see what's so weird about Smith, he seems just as obnoxious as he was in the last two films. I'm starting to think you never even saw the 2nd film. Of the last decade only Reloaded/Revolutions has had a worst reception sequel wise

Of the last decade only Reloaded/Revolutions has had a worst reception sequel wise I have seen both Men In Blacks and he definitely seems more obnoxious here. Some of his dialogue is just cringeworthy. If you truly believe it can't get worse, look at the RT rating for Meet the Fockers and then Little Fockers, and then Men In Black 2. And while you've been starting to think I haven't seen the second one, which I have, I've been thinking this whole time reading your comments that you're completely oblivious to this film's well documented production problems.

Damn there's a lot of conclusions being drawn from a 2 minute 31 second sample of a movie in this thread.

Re: Men in Black 3 - Trailer #2
Yeah at one point they actually shut the production down to do re-writes. That's a pretty bad sign that this is exactly the desperate cash-in it looks like. Also, while the quality of a sequel is naturally suspect, a sequel that follows on the footsteps of an already bad sequel, ten years later no less...
Well, I hope I'm wrong.

Well, I hope I'm wrong. I guess we're all hoping we're wrong, but there's no reason to be surprised if it ends up worse than Men In Black 2.

I highly doubt it's gonna be worse than 2. You can't get worse than 2.
