Post Re: HAPPY ENDINGS
As per usual, hysterical last night.

-Mistaking rat poison for pirate cereal ("the boxes do look oddly similar")
-the revelation Brad had a sex dream about Fran Sinclair, the mom on Dinosaurs (lol)
-Dave as Freddy Kruger
-the flashback of Penny thinking of a balcony jump after one day without sugar
-"You said the same thing about Krippendorf's Tribe and now it's one of my favorite movies"
-Alex and her ribs, again

The Penny balcony jump flashback had me SCREAMING with laughter.

All the things you mentioned were amazing as well, also Penny describing the "whore's bath" :hahaha:

This week's episode was hilarious. I laughed out loud at many occasions.

Is this going to be the last episode with James Wolk? I think they left the door open for him to come back in the future. Even though I want kids someday I swear if a man that awesome were my boyfriend I'd stay with him and just forget about it.

Since this is ending a bit earlier than most shows I actually wish they'd release Season 2 on DVD in the middle of summer. It would give people time to catch up before a new season starts which could help the ratings. Not to mention I want to own it A.S.A.P. :P

Elisha Cuthbert was awesome on Conan last night. Complete opposite of Beth Behrs a few weeks ago, who came off thinking what she said was hilarious when it wasn't. Not her fault, one of her first interviews so it's fine. But Elisha was great. Came off really sincere and down-to-Earth.

Makes me really wish the show gets a third season.

It WILL get a third season. No doubt in my mind that it's totally safe. But what will happen next season has me nervous. It's likely going on a new night with a new comedy block and won't have the Modern Family lead-in. I hope it can stand on its own.

Tonight The Middle and Happy Endings are new but Suburgatory and Modern Family are reruns. Wonder how the ratings will turn out.

I went on a massive marathon of this recently and am caught up within one episode.

OMG.

How are Adam Pally, Damon Wayans Jr. and Eliza Coupe not Emmy nominated?!

I want to marry this show. :wub2:

To be fair, Season 1 was disjointed. Good here, meh there.

When it's snubbed for Season 2, it'll be a travesty.

Yeah, Season 2 is ah-mah-zing. I will be pissed if it's snubbed. Eliza Coupe and Damon Wayans, Jr. NEED to be Emmy nominated. They are brilliant on this show.

I guess The Middle ended up being a re-run last night too. The only new episode was Happy Endings. Stupid.

Here are the ratings:

I wasn't crazy about last night's episode. It was ok. More like season 1 quality, though one of the mediocre episodes of Season 1.

Tonight's episode was very funny. Most of Alex's lines made me laugh.

Agreed, yet another incredibly hilarious episode. Elisha Cuthbert is the stealth MVP of the show. Her delivery of "I'm Dave" in the "body switch" tag scene was perfection.

Also:
-"Mary Tyler Moore Tyler Moore Moore Moore"
-"That was the most hilarious near-death experience I've ever seen, and I've seen Anthony Anderson play tennis."
-"Meat, lettuce and cheese in one of those crispy half moon envelope things."

Can't believe it's losing so badly to New Girl in this poll: http://www.hulu.com/bestinshow

You Snooze, You Bruise is the weakest episode of season 2 for me, but a weak episode of Happy Endings is still pretty darn funny.

I think there have been weaker, but it wasn't the best that's for sure. Unless I'm mistaken the last three have been kind of weak.

I just finished watching the first season and the rise in quality between the two season is incredible. I think I laugh more during one good episode of season 2 than I laughed in all of season 1 combined.

It's not that the character writing has necessarily improved, but the jokes hit so much better.

So there's two more episodes, apparently, but that only brings us to a total of 21 for the season. Did they cut the order or is there an extra episode on the shelf somewhere?

I don't think anyone knows the answer to that yet, other than ABC and the crew. They might air an episode over the summer like they did last year. Bummed it's ending next week, though. I hope Don't Trust the B in Apt. 23 is funny enough to justify the early finale.

All I know is I'm fuckin' tired of ABC developing the best adult comedies on TV (Happy Endings, Cougar Town, Better Off Ted), but having nowhere for them on the schedule.

I loved the farcical nature of last night's episode. "Life is not like Three's Company. Ah, there's Daphne, HIDE!"

Other highlights:

Brad and baby outfits.

Max: "You're not the only one who's good at this game, Emily Thorne!" (<3 Revenge)

Penny: "This isn't a bachelorette party, it's a baby shower."
Alex: "Oh...so what kind of penis stuff should we get?"

"We're gonna be weekenders!"
