The Artist lost three of its nominations so far.

Re: Broadcast Film Critics Awards - ceremony now!
I could easily see Hugo winning Best Picture and Best Director.

I never want to hear Fitz and the Tantrums ever again after tonight.

And what exactly would be this years The Social Network? Because TSN won Director/Picture at the BFCA awards.

Re: Broadcast Film Critics Awards - ceremony now!
The Artist has nothing to challenge it, does it? It doesn't seem as if Hugo or The Descendants will have the juice to surge and overcome it.

I just mean it's going to start sweeping, and will possibly take Best Director at the Oscars.

Viola Davis may actually be stronger than Streep and Williams in this race now.

Re: Broadcast Film Critics Awards - ceremony now!
This ceremony has been incredibly poorly produced and hosted.

Yep, The Artist is winning. Or The Help. I could see that upsetting at the Oscars.

Mike wrote: Yep, The Artist is winning. Or The Help. I could see that upsetting at the Oscars. Agreed. The Artist is the definite frontrunner now, but The Help--American, a huge hit, an Important Message, a couple very strong acting contenders--is well placed to upset. Everything else seems dead in terms of a possible Best Picture win.

Re: Broadcast Film Critics Awards - ceremony now!
The oddest win of the night had to be Thomas Horn. Maybe it was a halfhearted way to justify all the Extremely Loud love, including Best Picture and Best Director nominations?
Thought for sure Shailene Woodley would win since she was also up for Best Supporting Actress. And if not her, maybe Asa Butterfield, starring in Marty's Best Picture nominee, or even (my personal choice) Saoirse Ronan, who is the most established and well-known actress of the nominees.
But, nope. Thomas Horn.

But, nope. Thomas Horn. He has gotten a number of really great reviews. Although, as much as I want to see the movie, his precociousness irks me a little bit. I certainly love to see intelligent children but...

He seemed really annoying on stage tonight. I sure hope he's not like that in the movie .

Re: Broadcast Film Critics Awards winners!
War Horse actually tied The Tree of Life for cinematography.
The Help was the big winner last night, IMO. Hugo was the major loser.
