Yep, that's an Oscar.

Those images of past winners worries me. Can we go one year without "celebrating" the movies of the past? We get it. The movies made 50 years ago are better than the ones made this year.

Although this is one year where a ceremony fixated on nostalgia would reflect many of the major players (The Artist, Hugo, War Horse).

Though in general I very much agree. Lacing every telecast with moments of weird, vague nostalgia (here's a brief montage in tribute to To Kill a Mockingbird to, uh, introduce Sam Worthington to the stage to present Best Art Direction!) is getting old.

A strange tagline, too. "Celebrate the movies in all of us"? I wasn't aware there was a 35mm projector operating inside my body.

They should have chosen different movies if they wanted the poster to convey a "Movies telling the story of US, the people" type narrative. Movies with more social relevance or at least the illusion of tapping into the American experience--Coming Home, Kramer vs. Kramer, Philadelphia, American Beauty...I don't know.

You'd be surprised what your spleen is hiding from you.

Most of us have upgraded to digital.

Last year's ceremony was perhaps the worst since David Letterman's, so the show can only improve!

I'm a traditionalist.

I like it, it has a more traditional look.
