Re: The Avengers (INTL.)
You can tell by the thread count, that next year's superheroes are much bigger than this year's...
THOR, GREEN LANTERN, X-MEN and CAPTAIN AMERICA have to share one INTL thread and SPIDEY, BATMAN & the AVENGERS bunch get their own...
PS: How come that your newest avatar has clothes on?

Obviously, The Avengers alone will make more overseas than any of the superheroes this year. Amazing Spiderman and Batman are pretty much a given.
Yes, I have clothes on now. Do you like. I think he's very hot, love the whole package

But you wouldn't know from the trailer. They show him briefly and that's that.

Re: The Avengers (INTL.)
Next year will also be interesting as it will show the apex of Batman Begins' influence in the comic genre.
TDKR goes without saying, but Marvel used the reception of Iron Man (A film that was noted by many, director included, to be majorly influenced by BB) to launch the Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man has referenced BB as not only a inspiration as far as resetting the franchise is concerned, but emulating the tone, as well.

Bad news for the German opening: After weeks of lousy weather, the forecast promises nonstop sunshine and summer temperatures...

Actually, I expected a somewhat better final tally with about 1.6m admissions...

Re: The Avengers (INTL.)
It has opened today here in Oz which is a holiday and theaters are commencing shows after Midday (as opposed to the morning). So after lunch sessions (the first of the day) are selling very well. Thor did $9m in its first week do this should be good for $13m+ first week.

In Aus , Final numbers aren't out yet, but it'll be 2nd biggest OD ever behind HPDH:PT2 and ahead of ROTK

That is seriously brilliant. I guess Anzac day helped but still amazing for the genre and in general. Please keep me updated if you can
