$140m THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN

I'm surprised, I expected something close to $200m...

Compared to $200m for CARS 2 that's a bargain...

Whoa, since when have they also shot the sequel? I thought they were going to have to wait for Secret of the Unicorn to be a hit...

Yeah I just caught that. Also how in the hell did they spend that much on JE ? Atkison is far from a draw and shouldn't be able to demand so much. The first one was the only BIG hit, but I guess those damn international numbers are the only thing keeping this series alive.

Pixar seems to be the only animation studio that can't keep their budgets down. Those are very reasonable numbers for Tintin and Puss, and Blue Sky and Imagination keep their films under 100m. 200m for a Cars sequel doesn't make much sense.

Rum Diary is expensive. Better do well overseas.

Oh really? my bad.

They are shooting a sequel together, the second one will be directed by Jackson. I do agree that it would be helping keeping the budgets intact.

PA movies are just too much of financial success for these movies to end anytime soon. I think after few parts they will just start a new story with new characters.

That's too big for JER, I know it will be financial success in the end, still they should have considered twice before giving that budget.

That's a great budget for Muppets, I think they are also skeptical for the movie's success, cause in the past these movies haven't attracted many audience. Also none of the actors involved are well known for the budget to go big in that sense.

That's actually a good budget for it but I think Summit was not as aggressive with the marketing.

That's expected budget for Puss, but given that the domestic success of this one is skeptical they could have kept the budget a little more closer to $100m.

That's high for The Rum Diary and Anonymous (I don't see it making much in OS markets). In Time might make its budget but I don't see it a big success given the aggressive marketing.

We had these discussions before, it was just one of the sequels and the graphics were very demanding for Cars 2, its just that the movie was not very good and it will still be financial success. Cars 2 was just one movie and to generalize based on that is not really fair.

I expected a higher budget for Tower Heist. I heard Ben Stiller was paid 15 mil. alone. Plus Murphy's salary, Ratner's, and the salaries of a not unimpressive supporting cast (Broderick, Sidibe, C. Affleck), as well what seems to be lots of action and on location shooting in New York City.

That's a very good budget for Tower Heist which should just even its total but will easily recover its budget in WW total. H&K should be really beneficial domestically.

Yeah that is definitely WTF budget for J&J, what happened there?
Expected big budget for Immortals, it is really giving the Sucker Punch Vibe to me.
Good for Edgar, should definitely be a good earner for WB.

Damn notice how they say it cost atleast an extra $50M to market ? Depending on those international numbers this movie definitely has the potential to be even a bigger bomb than Sucker Punch. It's pretty fucking ridicoulous that a rookie company like Relatively spent this much on a movie when they don't even have much marketing experiance in the first place. It ain't like they have a bunch of hits under their belts to easily recover from this if shit goes south.
