Post CARS 2 (INTL.) - $360,400,000
Pixar's international track record:

1. Toy Story 3 - $648,167,031
2. Finding Nemo - $528,179,000
3. Up - $438,338,580
4. Ratatouille - $417,277,164
5. The Incredibles - $370,001,000
6. WALL-E - $297,503,696
7. Monsters Inc. - $269,493,347
8. Toy Story 2 - $239,163,000
9. Cars - $217,900,167
10. A Bug's Life - $200,600,000
11. Toy Story - $170,162,503

______________________________________________________________________________

Cars 2 made $42.9 million in its first international weekend.

According to THR:

Quote:
Biggest Cars 2 markets were Russia ($9.3 million), Mexico ($8.1 million), Brazil ($7.6 million), Italy ($5.7 million) and Australia ($5.2 million).

That means it already more than tripled the first film's gross in Russia and looks to completely crush the first film's total in Mexico, Brazil and Australia.

I expect a finish somewhere between The Incredibles and Ratatouille right now, maybe with $390 million.

That's definitely a good number from 18 markets, I just hope that bad WOM does not really hurt this movies legs. I think with Pixar brand Cars2 has a shot of crossing $400m OS total and a slight chance to take over KFP2 WW total.

^ WoM is not being BAD for Cars 2, Reviews from critics are the ones which are terrible and awful

Maybe I wasn't clear, I don't mean that it has bad WOM, but given the critics reception if somehow it gets bad WOM in OS markets, the legs will not be as good. Based on that it will have a chance to cross KFP2 in WW total

got it, but MOST people in overseas territories dont read or dont even know that Rotten Tomatoes exist, we just have to look back at films like Pirates, Shrek and Ice Age, they also got a ROTTEN score and people went to watch them massively

Yes and that is why I think it has a chance to pass KFP2 WW total, I still don't see Cars 2 making $500m OS as it does not have the advantage of a big market like China, still being shot in OS markets might help it out for $450m OS total

$82,200,000

Still a lot of major markets to open in left, but the holds in the current markets are anything but promising. Might top out at $350 million.

I don't think Cars2 is holding very well, though there are a lot more markets left it has already been released in 45% of its markets which makes me think that it will crawl past $300m OS total given the competition. I'd say it is kinda disappointing but then again I don't believe the WOM would have helped it.

I think it has now released in 50% of it markets...though not sure.

From here on I see it making $350m OS total at max. I don't see how this will reach $600m WW total. For that it needed at least $250m domestic total which is not happening.

$17.7m weekend with OS total of $173.7 million.

$350.1m WW total, this is slowing down considerably in holdover markets, not sure if it will hit $500m mark.

Just realized that Cars 2 just passed X-Men: First Class in the Worldwide total. It will be shocking if it fails to pass Rio (currently at $472.2m) in Worldwide Total

From Screendaily

Quote:
Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International’s Cars 2 stands at $273.7m and pulls into Hong Kong, Taiwan and Finland this weekend.

The number is quite different from BOM's number of $258,400,000 by 7th August. Not sure if it made $15.3m over 3-4 days.

Currently at $290m OS total and Worldwide total of $476.5.

It also entered Top 100 in the Worldwide charts at #99 and should cross Rio soon, but I don't see this going much ahead of $500m WW total.

$357,100,000 coming off a $6.5 million weekend.

It pretty much has no new territories to open in, though. Looks like it's heading for around $370 million total overseas and $560 million worldiwde. Respectable, but not great.

disappointing, I hope Brave destroys Madagascar 3 and Ice Age 4 (quite impossible)

Go Pixar!

The Smurfs should over take it in OS total which is a shocker, but the given the quality (IMO) of these two movies I think Smurfs deserves that.

Brave being the original of the 3 has a very good chance of beating both Madagascar and IA4.

Even with poor legs it is doing good as expected in OS markets. Disney was smart enough to release it between KFP2 and Smurfs which help its longetivity in the markets.

kinda desagree, in some parts it competed against Harry Potter and Transformers neck to neck, and in others the smurfs killed it

next year Brave will come to the rescue!
