And the good ones (The Williams, Sharapova) all have ugly as shit power games anyways. I loved watching Henin and Clijsters play because they actually moved and stuff

I disagree. Women's tennis is pretty dramatic stuff. I mean how often do u see men winning a match at 0/6 0/6 2/4 (15/40) down. that shit happens everyday on the WTA.

I hate Henin. She was an abrasive player with poor sportsmanship.

I like the Williams sisters and Sharapova, while they're shots are all power, it's clearly not enough to win a tournament much these days. I mean you could even argue that they brought the women's game to the front and centre. I mean I love Martina Hingis and Steffi Graf, but even i can admire that their roles in women's tennis has been good for the game.

Jankovic was playing shit all tournament. it's no wonder she lost. and women's tennis is a lot more interesting because there aren't that many dominant players. I mean outside of Fed, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray, men's tennis is kinda uneventful.

There is always great tennis in women's. you just don't watch enough.

for example, Dokic vs Wosniacki the other day had some great ground strokes.

i mean its nothing like the wonderful games Graf, Seles and Hingis use to play. i mean they had to increase the ball size to make men's tennis more interesting.

A scare for Federer but a fantastic comeback after being 2 sets down. You could see the relief.

Dokic into the quarterfinals where she'll face Safina, who looked vulnerable in her fourth round match.

Good comeback for Federer.

Absolutely, i despised every single week she was at the top of the game. While i do miss the days of Graf/Seles womens tennis is still pretty damn entertaining. Bartoli played ot of her skin to beat Jankovic, i'm sure she would have taken out a whole host of top players playing like that.

... and Federer... "I enjoy those kind of fights because it doesn't happen very often".... good god he's starting to piss me off now with this constant crap. I want to see someone kick his ass, and it would be a whole lot sweeter if it was Murray.

I don't care how Fed spins it, going down two sets is NOT a good thing. I think he's losing to Novak in the semis....again.

I think Roddick is looking pretty good and will probably give Novak a very stern test in the quarters. I'd love to see Roddick make a semifinal at a slam again, and for Novak to lose, mostly the latter.

hate djokovic. he is such a prick. federer had a stumble against berdych but he was firing on all cylinders. i expect federer to have a better match against del potro. last time they met at the 2008 madrid or paris masters in november, federer won 6-3 6-3. hoping for a fed- roddick semifinal and for fed to win it all. i'm thinking of an upset for nadal too because simon is a hard guy to beat. last time those two played in november 2008, simon won 3-6 7-6 7-5. it'll be close though...

Arg, fucking Murray.

Though to say he'll never win a slam is way too premature considring that he's 21 and hasn't reached his prime. He'll win one for sure.

If Nadal loses at this point, I'll be very surprised. He is easily playing the best of anyone, and he has the easiest road to the final.

Nah, won't win. The UK public won't be helping with all the pressure they put on him.

His ego is too big as well. He probably blamed this loss on a cold sore or something.

and I hope Simon beats Nadal.

If Roddick doesn't beat Novak, then I hope Novak wins the slam. I would ideally love Roddick win the slam though.

I knew Murray would not make the semis once the media started calling him a favourite last week. At this stage i dont think he is good enough to win a slam. Not yet anyway.

BTW - the weather is going to have a big impact on the Aus Open this week. Everyday this week through to saturday will be over 40 degrees celsius (114+ Farenhiet). Strongest heatwave in 100 years!! Yikes.

Roddick could and should win this. Thank god.

Hopefully Djokovic retires due to injury soon.

Serena definitely hit back once the roof closed. It will stay closed overnight and tomorrow.

The night match is about to start and its still 42 degrees outside  and 43 degrees tomorrow.

46 in adelaide is just a joke.

She's more a threat at the French. Hopefully she'll make her breakthrough there. I hope Serena wins, but it won't be a match that I get up at 3:30 for.
