 Re: Production Budgets
There are some rumors that the Pirates films cost considerably more than reported, so I wouldn't take those numbers to be unquestionable facts.

I had a contact -- whose word I trust and who would've had access to the info -- who straight up said POTC2 & 3 together cost over $630m. Production budgets, not including P&A.

 Re: Production Budgets
Releasing the third Pirates less than a year after the second was one of the most boneheaded moves in movie studio history. Special effects costs went way out of control, and it would not surprise me if the budget went over $350M. Johnny Depp's salary alone would have been over 50 million for the two films.

 Re: Production Budgets
Very good budget for HB and okish for Zookeeper. Looks like it will need some help from OS markets to make back that budget.

Nice budget for CA, considering it's a period piece and a flashy comic book superhero movie too.

 Re: Production Budgets
Agreed that's a good budget for Captain America, though I don't see very well known actors (including Chris Evans) which might have helped a little

None of them have big paychecks (and Samuel Jackson I believe will be in cameo, so he should not be having full payment).

 Re: Production Budgets
So is Warner Bros. just not planning on releasing the budget of Deathly Hallows Part II? I can't blame them, these multi-sequels seem to be expensive. It's kind of astounding that The Hobbit is getting a $500 million budget.

MovieDude wrote: So is Warner Bros. just not planning on releasing the budget of Deathly Hallows Part II? There's rarely a confirmation by any studio of the size of budget for any of their movies. Everything we have are second/third/etc. hand sources... mark66 wrote: SCREENDAILY has HP7-2 at $250m... That's actually a great budget if true. I thought this one was definitely breaking $300m considering that this was the eight movie in a row, with an intact and extensive acting crew which all probably had huge salary bumps as the movies went by and HBP was already reported at $250m too.

Compared to BAD TEACHER ($19m) or HORRIBLE BOSSES ($37m) or FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS ($35m) it's a little bit more epxensive...
