Re: 3-Day Weekend Estimates (July 1-3)
HARRY POTTER(No matter what part of the movie there in) is played out and won't make anymore domestically than the other movies.. In the end CAPTAIN AMERICA will own this to..

BKB why did Thor not get to $300 million like you predicted?

Dr. Lecter wrote: BKB why did Thor not get to $300 million like you predicted? Because it was a much harder sell than CAPTAIN AMERICA will be, plus it wasn't marketed as heavily as this movie is being and being screened a month early with rave reviews.. Trust me.. Your changing your avatar or signature..

Captain America: The First Avenger has screened! People have seen it! It’s long lead press and a few select others (not me, though. Marvel got no love for BAD), and the word has trickled down: the film is great. I have no further information beyond that, but I’ve heard it now from a couple of sources. Could 2011 be the year where only the period superhero movies were worth a damn? That would be kind of cool.

Domestically it is going to be one hell of a dog fight imo...

Re: 3-Day Weekend Estimates (July 1-3)
I know this is late, but GL has to have one of the worst perfomances ever for a big budget superhero film. At this rate it doesn't even look like it's going to reach $120M and yet the studio still wants to go ahead and make a sequel. Doesn't make much sense at all if you ask me.

Re: 3-Day Weekend Estimates (July 1-3)
The updated studio estimates have even better holds for Bridesmaids and Midnight in Paris. Very nice. That drop is especially impressive considering Bridesmaids lost so many theaters. I hope it doesn't lose as big a chunk next weekend.
