 Re: Green Lantern
Just as surely as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 4.

 Re: Green Lantern
5/10 -> C-
Made on the usual summer Hollywood blockbuster scheme - first 2/3 is the setup, and the last 1/3 consisting of mindless, special effects driven, action.
I didn't like the story. Very idiotic and naive and completely rushed and underdeveloped. More cartoon appropriate than for a feature movie. Ryan Reynolds is good in his (very ungrateful and asshole-ish) role. Even Blake Lively (aghhh, can't stand her) was decent.
Effects are sufficeable. The 3D was horrendous. I literally peaked every once in a while to see the screen without the glasses just to see a regular 2D picture.
I think that the story with superheroes who act as guardians of the universe can work, but not in this whole mythology. It's very LOLtastic.

 Re: Green Lantern
Green Lantern was quite bad for a comic book movie. Everything Ryan Reynolds does while being the Green Lantern and saving others is hilariously awful (the racetrack scene in particular). Blake Lively is useless as expected and the villain is bad as well. The Green Lantern planet stuff was interesting but was underused. Whatever. *
