 Re: May 26-30 Predictions
Looks to be an ugly weekend for many holdovers, even with Memorial Day help.

Haha.
I hope Bridesmaids drops no more than 40%. It should bounce back easily the following weekend.

 Re: May 26-30 Predictions
I feel so ambivalent about these two blockbusters. Bring on X-Men and Super 8 already.

Gunslinger wrote: I feel so ambivalent about these two blockbusters. Bring on X-Men and Super 8 already. This. Except since we're on the internet the word ambivalent will be replaced with "meh." It's really difficult to tell how either of these movies will perform on Thursday. Hangover should win opening day. I think it'll be $15M vs $10M for Kung Fu Panda 2. Panda will probably win every day after, but not by too much. Panda 2 - $100M 5 day / $75M 3 day Hangover 2 - $95M 5 day / $67M 3 day Pirates - $45M 4 day

 Re: May 26-30 Predictions
A lot of the tent-pole summer movies this year are boring. I'm hardly dying to see how they perform. I'm much more curious about the performance of smaller titles like Tree of Life, Beginners, Midnight in Paris, etc... Also curious about the horror movies (Final Destination, Fright Night, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark).

Midnight in Paris is my Memorial Day event movie. And then The Tree of Life the week after!

I'd like to see blockbuster numbers honestly. That's the only reason most of us are here anyway. Movies struggling to 10m or 100m aren't exciting and the latter are only if they are like Bridesmaids leggy not like Green Hornet flailing and failing.
