Actually (I know I'm old), CONAN THE BARBARIAN opened May 14th 1982 and delivered the sixth biggest opening weekend of all-time back than ($9.5m)
Yeah I noticed that one - not too shabby. The only April or early May opening that beat it adjusted until Indecent Proposal was Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (4/13/83) Good old gimmick release date.
Though it looks likely to have very toxic reviews if the first batch is anything to go by...

Well it has become tradition for WB to release poorly reviewed rom-coms this time of year. Something Borrowed is following in the footsteps of Made of Honor and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. Both of those had excellent legs anyway.

Considering it's based on a besting seller, I actually find the tweets number underwhelming.

His recent career is laughable, so not too surprising.
From The Killing Fields and The Mission to Captivity (the Elisha Cuthbert movie) and Finding t.A.T.u.
Though it might be said he transitioned from making movies Mike wouldn't touch with a 10 ft. pole to ones Mike rented the first week they were out.

I never saw Captivity. Finding t.A.T.u. wasn't released here or I may have .

Who tracks the Twitter tracker?

The second week of the summer often leads to underwhelming openings...(Star Trek is the major exception). With fantastic wom on Fast 5, its still going to be a major factor this weekend.

I can't see Thor doing that low and it would really defy tracking. The lowest I see Thor doing is 55 million.
A sub-60m opening for Thor won't surprise me at all (I honestly give it a 50/50 chance of happening) but I opted to stay at least a bit optimistic. We'll see how that turns out.

Outstanding article. Site looks great, too. How long did it take you to write all those previews? Looks like a thesis.

Re: May 6-8 Predictions
Thanks, RT.
Yea, they were a bit long-winded -- won't be the norm for most of my regular posts, but I wanted to be thorough for the preview. I'd say, on average, each one took maybe 90 minutes? Relatively fast, partially because it was mostly thoughts I've been going over in my mind for months if not over a year so 90% of it was very fresh in my mind already.
