I went with Vampire's Suck grossing more than 50 Million. It was between that and Scott Pilgrim grossing half of Kick Ass, neither of which would be a surprise, IMO.

Expendables below 50m/Other Guys over Talladega/Pilgrim under KA & Exorcism ones could all happen.
I think TOG will outgross Talladega though.

I'd say after you raised the bar for Eat, Pray and Love this became very easy. None of these are going to happen. The most likely now is "HappyThankYouMorePlease will gross over $25 million". It would have been interesting with Eat, Pray and Love over 100m.

Expendables over 100 million is what I'd chose.

The Other Guys > Talladega Nights and Scott Pilgrim < 1/2 of Kick Ass are both possible. The former being a big possibility.

Eh, I actually see The Other Guys missing $100 million. Step Brothers BARELY made it and that was an easier sell than a buddy cop spoof. Talladega Nights was PG-13.

So is The Other Guys. Oh wow! I just assumed with Ferrell and Wahlberg playing "tough" cops that they would go all out with the language and violence. OK, so MAYBE it could pass $100 million.

They haven't even released a trailer for HappyThankYouMorePlease yet. I don't get it. It's supposed to open this next month. Having a bit of a difficult time seeing it being a big sleeper when they still don't have a trailer.

Hmm, probably none. Most likely though: The Other Guys beating Talladega Nights.

Re: Which of these August surprises is most likely?
It says most likely which means it is not sure that one of them is going to happen but which do you think has the potential to come close of overdo that prediction

Scott Pilgrim grossing 24m total would be surprising to me given the wide marketing it has received. I don't expect it to do great, probably less than Kick Ass, but less than half? That sounds really bad to me.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Not surprising. Wonder why they couldn't get their shit together in time.

Re: Which of these August surprises is most likely?
I would be thrilled if I'm wrong, but I'm going with Scott Pilgrim doing half of Kick-Ass' business. I just don't see this as the type of movie that will do well among mainstream moviegoers. It really shouldn't gross under $25m, but this seems the most likely of the group.
In second place would probably be OG beating Talladega, followed by Exorcism earning less than 1/4 of Paranormal Activity's gross.

Re: Which of these August surprises is most likely?
OG will never be that good, lot of comparable summer movies might not do that and for it to do that it might need a GRAND opening which I don't see happening.
Scott Pilgrim might disappoint still Cera made 19m with YIR only with a very simple low-budgeted not known movie. Now this one is not going to be very well known still I don't see it disappointing and the super-hero genre among teenagers can get good crowd attention in the OW. It will definitely be very close to Kick Ass if not cross it
