But isn't TITANIC's worldwide total $1.848.800.000?

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1,718,989,686 Worldwide (#2)
The Numbers:
Total US Gross $600,788,188 International Gross $1,248,025,607 Worldwide Gross $1,848,813,795
Titanic Earnings Update It may be ten years since the movie was released, but Fox continues to receive corrections and updates to the international box office reports for Titanic, which is, as every Numbers reader knows, the highest-grossing movie of all time. We just received the latest numbers...
Titanic's international box office now stands at $1,248,025,607, up about $3 million from previous reports. Its US gross remains unchanged at $600,788,188, giving it a worldwide total of $1,848,813,795. We're currently reviewing the country-by-country breakdown, and we will issue an update soon.
Is this the final, final gross? Well, we're not sure, but it's not clear if we have final figures from Vietnam yet, which released the movie in 2003. Whether those numbers will be enough to push it over the magical $1.85 billion mark remains to be seen.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/con ... 870cb249a4Only specific countries listed are China - $11.8m ($102.3m total) Russia - $3.9m ($95.4m) Also: Quote: Then there is the inflation factor. According to a formula developed by the department of U.S. Labor Statistics, "Titanic's" 1997 worldwide gross is currently worth at least $2.5 billion on an inflation adjusted basis, or $805 million domestic and $1.664 billion foreign.
Still champ is "Gone With The Wind," which grossed $400 million worldwide in 1939, now worth at least $6 trillion in today's dollars.
Say wha? Way too low an adjustment for Titanic and way too high for GWTW ($6 trillion? lol).

This is ridiculous, GONE WITH THE WIND made almost half of its box office in the late 60s & early 70s...

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1,718,989,686 Worldwide (#2)
In another spectacular result in China it added $11.7m from 1,013 screens to cross $100m there, despite losing 1,500 2D screens last week to Confucius. The running total stands at an extraordinary $102.3m after three weeks. In its second weekend in Italy Avatar added $13.6m for $37.8m. With France already on $123m, several other territories are closing in on the $100m mark: Avatar generated a further $8.9m in Germany for $95.7m, $8m in the UK for $92.9m, and $3.9m in Russia for $95.4m. The film added $5.7m in Japan for $77.7m, $5.7 in Spain for $76m, $5.2m in Australia for $77.1m, and $4.2m in South Korea for $79.5m. It has become the first non-South Korean film to cross 10m admissions and is now the biggest film of all time in Spain, Australia, Hong Kong and Chile, having previously attained the distinction in China and Russia. Avatar’s box office in Brazil stands at $39.2m and Mexico has reached $35.5m and it is the third biggest and second biggest films of all time, respectively. http://www.screendaily.com/news/distrib ... 61.article

South Korea feels like an unsung market here, that gross is phenomenal.

Maybe Japan will turn out to be its biggest market after all. Like i said, Avatar is like Princess Mononoke with mechs, a potent mix.

 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1,718,989,686 Worldwide (#2)
China should stabilize and end up over 140-150 million.
Italy is holy crap, are we looking at a 100 million market???
Germany is great, if it keeps holding like this it could challenge Titanic 129 million.
UK is great as well, looks like it will be the biggest film ever in GBP there... and likely 120 million.
Russia has slowed down but 105 million for sure.
Japan is doing slow but is very strong, 100 million is assured. Spain is insane, no idea where it could end. Aus could hit near 95 million based of its legs there. South Korea is huge, even in admissions it will be a all time hit.
what is the biggest film of all time in Mexico?

Very slight drop in the UK for ~ £5million weekend means it jumps from 11 to 6 on the all time chart. A seemingly easy to achieve multiplier of less than four from here would put it well ahead of Mamma Mia

The real question at this point is, can it break Mamma Mia's USD record? I think I saw over at BOM that it would take about 80m pounds?
