 Re: Avatar (INTL.) - $1.425bn Worldwide (#2)
Something just came into my mind:
Isn't Cameron thinking of re-releasing Titanic in 3D? What if, just what if, it actually makes a lot of money and ends up surpassing Avatar? That'd be an interesting case of Cameron passing Cameron only for Cameron to pass Cameron.

Yeah, but at this pace there's no way whatsoever for the Titanic rerelease to catch up to Avatar. 3D or not.
Avatar's going for $2.3+ billion WW.

China is a little bellow expectations. Info xiayun posted suggested $75m as of saturday. It's okay, though, it's huge either way.

LOL. Considering it became the biggest film of all-time in two weeks...I don't see the disappointment.

I don't have Sunday figures yet, but it should be somewhere between 5.85m-5.9m today and 9m is certainly still in play after dropping only 5-8 % this weekend...

It'd be great if someone can post a currently all-time chart of major markets (or any market)

It may have, the $193.8m number is what BOM has, but they are known to be lower on overall grosses for several foreign films. Yet another reason going by local currency is a much better idea.

There are examples like that, and then cases when a film is still doing pretty well but they suddenly stop tracking it.
I won't really fault BOM though. I'd imagine it would be difficult to track so many foreign films, especially after several weeks in release.
