yeah but I went to some Suburban theater there.
Small one with about 6-8 screens.
Nothing like Scotiabank theater.

Box wrote: Also, why is Australia's gross so much greater? We have 1.5x Australia's population... Australia's grosses are big in relation to most countries. I'd love to see some per capita stats - Australia would certainly be high on the list. But ticket prices are indeed high here. Here are ticket prices for a regular film in Australia's dominant big chain theatres; Adult $17.00 Child $12.50 Pensioner $14.00 Senior Citizen $9.50 Student $14.00 For Avatar 3D.... Adult $19.00 Child $14.50 Pensioner $16.00 Senior Citizen $11.50 Student $16.00 Now Avatar 3D in Imax.... Adult $22.50 Child $16.50 Pensioner $18.50 Senior Citizen $18.50 Student $18.50 These are in AUD which is around $0.92 USD. Tuesdays are half price days usually around $10.50 per person. There are no matinee discounts. You can get corporate tickets which I use often. Adult at around $11-$12. Still Avatar makes $100m and its mind boggling even with the inflated prices.

WOW, how do you guys put up with those high prices? That's ridiculous even by Toronto standards.

Its ridiculous I know. Hence why I mainly use corporate tickets when possible. Also why Tuesday nights are very busy - known as "Tight Ass Tuesdays" Yet ticket sales seem to be as strong as ever, if not stronger.

Avatar Total Worldwide gross as of Jan 10th is
Domestic: $430,846,514 + Foreign: $915,100,000 = Worldwide: $1,345,946,514

Did anyone compile the list of countries where Avatar is now no.1 all time? And the rest of the countries its playing in and the chance of no. 1?

Calculating a dollar-per-capita list sounds like a job for Box. MadGez wrote: Its ridiculous I know. Hence why I mainly use corporate tickets when possible. Also why Tuesday nights are very busy - known as "Tight Ass Tuesdays" One vote for "Tight Ass Tuesday" becoming a global phenomenon, please.

£4.77m in the UK represents the biggest 4th weekend gross ever beats Titanic's £3.85m and Mamma Mia's £3.17m.
