ZWEIOHRKÜKEN is a sequel to local romcom KEINOHRHASEN which sold 6.3m tickets two years ago...

The Top Ten will change a lot though with 2012, NEW MOON, ZWEIOHRKÜKEN and AVATAR coming up... Ice Age 3 will still lead regardless. 2012 will do around 4m admissions i think. Avatar should be around there as well. Not sure about New Moon or Zweioruken.

Judging after first day sales, it should do about 850,000 admissions compared to 451,058 for the first one... http://www.insidekino.com/DProg/ProgDEZ32009.htm

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
Mark, do you think Up will be able to crawl to 3,000,000? I kept thinking "yes" all the time but it's really quite far away with almost 60,000 admissions still to go...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
Disney wants the 3m mark desperately, so I guess they make terms theater owners can't refuse... It all depends on how UP will hold up during xmas vacation. But I honestly don't know whether they'll succeed...

Weekend 01/10
admissions:
1) 740,152 AVATAR 2) 256,471 ZWEIOHRKÜKEN 3) 249,812 ALVIN 2 4) 140,291 SOUL KITCHEN 5) 109,845 FAME
There was a blizzard covering the northern half of Germany over the weekend thus depressing the b.o. a bit...
Weekday numbers will remain strong for another three days as Southern Germany still has school holidays and Wednesday is a holiday in Southern Germany...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
Southern Germany > Northern Germany, clearly. Avatar had better beat Ice Age 3 in Germany. If it doesn't, some random German's being slapped on the beach here next summer.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
I'm pretty sure that AVATAR will beat IA3's box office - in admissions it will be a bit more difficult...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
Beating its Box Office will suffice for me. IA3 probably cheated anyway, with its cheaper tickets for children.

AVATAR needs 7.2m admissions to beat IA3's b.o.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread: Avatar #1
Zweiohrküken is actually doing quite well for a local sequel. WoM seems to be pretty good.
I'm also wondering...how come The Proposal has not hit 2 million admissions yet?!
