The issue would just be solved for everyone is BOM closed the game at the time the page states. When you have it open hours after that deadline for YEARS, and then actually close the game on the deadline once or twice a month or something now, it is ridiculous.

Chip, if the game closes at 11am for almost famous, that means theatre counts/wed numbers arent even available until very early morning, 4/5am. It's asking alot of the international players like Omni, Levy, and almost famous to get them in so early. It needs to be at least 3 hours later like it did for 3, 4 years.

I work all day. Get off usually around 10 or 11. And somehow... SOMEHOW!!! got my prediction in on time!

And doing your predictions at 10/11pm at night is much more convenient than 6/7am. Not sure what the situation with Levy and almost famous is, but Omni for instance has school and tutors in the morning. No way could he have the theatre counts/wed numbers, get on in time and predict. It's all within an hour of one another now.

The stated time was always midnight, pacific time. But for 4 years, the actual close time was at 5am pacific time. All the international players can tell you this.

I think there is always going to be an advantage for certain players either way. If it closes at say 5am PST, then more info could become available (e.g. notfabio's midnight number or any other type of early leaks) that domestic players would've missed as they would be sleeping. To me, predicting at the last minute doesn't necessarily correlate to better accuracy. I had to predict earlier several times in the past and did fine, and a lot of times the last min decision/modification that I made turned out hurt me instead, even costing a couple of potential wins. By now, we could all pretty much know Wed patterns (and it's normally available from SBD at 10am PST) and the range of theater loss ahead of time that the set of predictions made a little earlier shouldn't deviate much from the final ones, even if you tweak the numbers later, and there is really no telling which one is going to turn out more accurate.

However, I do agree that BOM should stick to a deadline that it announces and not have this floating timer, whether it's 12am or 4am PST. Very easy to set such trigger automatically on the server.

Unlike you, some people actually have a life. I need to go to bed before the counts are out because I get up at 5am my time and have to rush to work which is 70 miles away. You don't actually believe I will get up 15 minutes earlier for some stupid derby and shorten my night even more. It would be very easy to accomodate every player by extending the deadline that's all I'm saying. I never bitched about them being on time, I just don't like the time of the deadline

At least we know how many time zones are there in Russia (11) and we don't give Moscow time to someone from Kiev. Fuck BOM, guys. The 4 hour grace period should become the deadline. There wasn't any issues before this year when that was actually the deadline for every game for 4 years. It's way too difficult for international players to predict with the midnight pacific time one unless they predict before any theatre counts or wed numbers are out. They shouldn't have to predict theatre counts, wed numbers, and the weekend grosses. Everyone would be fine with this, they were fine with this.
