My 10 as of June 21st
Up Agora Creation Sherlock Holmes Avatar The Tempest 500 Days of Summer Los Abrazos Rotos Insert Toronto/Venice monster here Nine
Just ftr Creation is a Charles Darwin biopic with Paul Bettany and Jennifer Connelly. Also tackles the religion vs science debate. I'm putting it in over Amelia and The Last Station though I'm sure one of the 3 will make it
Agora is a historical drama set in Egypt in 391 AD starring Rachel Weisz, that has slavary, Christianity, and romance in it. It's probably at the least a Best Actress + Tech film that hangs around the race, but I'll throw it in with the 10 noms
Then you're going to be playing musical chairs. Bright Star looks less Atonement, more Becoming Jane.

I changed mine earlier this week for Bright Star.

It's the Year of the Woman, its virtually written in stone. Multiple women will be nominated for BD, and their films for BP.

Remind me how you've come to that conclusion.

When you have multiple women directors with very strong films in contention, that's the narrative that forms. In inevitable, its unmistakable, it is Sam, what it is.

I heard somewhere that only three women have ever been nominated for Best Director... ever. Can anyone confirm?
Anyways, I would say that nothing is inevitable with Aug-Dec still in the cards. But we don't need to go down that path again.

Campion, Coppola, and the other half of LMS' team. Off the top of my head.
