Star Trek has the misfortune of being burdened down by nearly a dozen films.
I'm a little late to the game but here's my national lampoon ratings

Vacation: 8
Christmas Vacation: 9.5
Vegas Vacation: 4
Average: 7.2

I have never seen a single american pie film...yikes.

Exactly. If they don't know how to behave, and feel OK offending others, they get their ass kicked, so they'll think next time before opening their rotten mouths.

Anyway, I'd vote but I've only seen a couple of the Star Trek movies so no go.

Are you referring to my rankings of the Star Trek franchise above? I have seen all of the movies and all of the TV series (except half of Enterprise) - - I'm what some people might call a Trekkie. For someone who admits to being unfamiliar with the franchise, I suggest you keep your uninformed opinions to yourself.

Someone doesn't have to be a Trekkie to have an informed opinion on Star Trek 09 as it's not like all the other movies are prerequisites to see/score that one. A score of 1 or zero is something that would (in theory, I guess) be reserved for pure garbage from every possible cinematic angle, not just a movie that the fanboy inside didn't like because it ruffled your feathers or whatever.

Star Trek's writing, directing, acting, cinematagraphy, editing, score, etc were all truly horrific? A failure on every level? That's a little ridiculous, sorry. I didn't love the movie or anything but I am talking to the guy who gave X2 a 1 and X3 a 9, so I guess there's really no point in going further down this road.

It was a failure as a Star Trek movie.

(But then I am talking to the guy who gave X3 a 0, so I guess there's really no point in going further down this road.)

Malcolm's general argument is entirely right. The only point in this argument when he approaches being wrong is by saying he's not a huge fan of ST (2009)

I agree. X3 was also a complete failure as a Star Trek movie.
