I don't wear any because I'm very sensitive to perfume, but I like Terre d' Hermes by Hermes and Rive Gauche by Yves Saint Laurent

Make sure you join Club Nancy. You save 15% on every order just for signing up for the mailing list (where you'll get a REALLY FUNNY e-mail once-a-month) and they'll throw you a travel size (2 oz) item when you spend $40 or more. I should work for them

Does anyone have any experience with toners with alcohol in them? I'm looking to add alpha hydroxy acid into my mix (even though it'll make mornings a pain in the butt). This seems like the most logical add-on, but has alcohol in it: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod. ... atid=10210

Oh this soap was great too. It smells (because it is sulfer based) but worked wonders on body acne and my face as well: http://www.amazon.com/Joesoef-Anti-Acne ... 069&sr=8-4Just make sure to wear some sort of fragrance afterward.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
rossino, what moisturizer with SPF do you use on your face? As I'm nearly 100% recovered from my surgeries, I'm about to being going out in the sun again. So to combat a return of skin cancer, I'm basically going to become a slut for SPF shit.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
Hmm... Unfortunately, the ingredients that block UVA rays are all chalky or greasy. Whatever you buy, though, make sure it has one of these ingredients: Avobenzone, Titanium Dioxide, or Zinc Oxide (or you won't get full UVA protection). I use Neutrogena Visibly Even SPF 30 ( http://www.drugstore.com/qxp91235_33318 ... spf_15.htm). It's okay, but probably not something I'll buy again (very, very runny). I'm sort-of looking for a new (cheap) one myself. I've used MD Formulations Moisture Defense Antioxidant Moisturizer SPF 20 ( http://skincarerx.com/md-formulations-M ... PF-20.html) and DDF Daily Organic SPF 15 ( http://skincarerx.com/DDF-Daily-Protect ... PF-15.html) before, compliments of my sister, and both are comfortable and moisturizing and all. But they're kinda expensive. Alternatively, you could buy a legit sunscreen that's okay for the face and use that over your current moisturizer. My mom likes Skinceuticals Ultimate UV 30 ( http://www.skinceuticals.com/_us/_en/ca ... SPF-30.htm). MD Formulations makes a similar product for a lot less ( http://skincarerx.com/md-formulations-T ... -Face.html). Coppertone also makes a good oil-free, fragrance-free one ( http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod. ... atid=12101). Also check out: http://www.skincancer.org/seal-of-recommendation/

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
I got a new SPF moisturizer yesterday. Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin, SPF 15. Korrgan, I think this is perfect. It's not as whitening as other zinc-oxide moisturizers, it's oil-free, and it's around $8 for 4 ounces (which is much less than the $13, 1.7 oz Neutrogena I was using).

I only use Nivea products. It's german quality. The beauty cream is the best. Michael should use it too, for his bad skin

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
To my faithful metrosexual grooming followers (all 1.5 of you).
I did a product overhaul yesterday.
Well, not really. But I was nearly finished with most of my products so I decided to buy some new ones.
The big change is a retinol cream, by Skinceuticals. I already have horizontal fine lines on my forehead, and I suppose that's not good at 21. It's also (supposedly) good for acne, which I was using 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide to control (I rarely ever breakout, though). But I'm kind of sick of the Benzoyl Peroxide bleaching my eyebrows and hair. I had used Retin-A before but it caused me massive peeling, so I'm thinking OTC Retinol will be gentler. We'll see. If not, I can return it (haha). I took a before picture and will check back in a week.
To accompany the retinol cream is the following:
Face/Body Bar: Nancy Boy Replenishing (this will never change) Face Wash/Scrub (to control flakiness associated w/ Retinol): Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser Moisturizer: Olay Complete for Sensitive Skin SPF 15 (see above) After Shave: Peter Thomas Roth Ultra-Lite Multi-Tasking After Shave Balm (longest fucking name ever) Shave Cream: same as before...Urth Shave Cream/Barbasol (to replace my Edge) Shampoo: Bumble and bumble Creme de Coco (courtesy of my sister) Conditioner: Shikai Conditioner (el cheapo stuff at Whole Foods) Hair Stuff: Nancy Boy Styling Cream (this will never change. it is the absolute most amazing thing for hair. Though I do also have a jar of Murray's Pomade, when I want the "helmet head" look).
I guess I'm missing self-tanner, a mask, a peel, mascara, lip gloss, powder, etc before I'm officially a woman.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
I even use moisturizer (what a word!), for I have dry skin due to a mild neurodermatitis.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
To be fair, I only use a scrub to control flakiness that I will get by using the retinol. Similarly, the moisturizer I use for sun protection, plus the retinol should leave me dry. This stuff is very powerful. Read the wiki about the prescription version (called "retinoic acid" or tretinoin): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tretinoin (or read this: http://www.essortment.com/lifestyle/ski ... e_sldo.htm) If it goes as planned, I'm going to have to cope with red, irritated skin for a while, as this works by pretty much thinning out your skin. But it's the only thing proven to get rid of wrinkles (besides Botox) and it also has positive effects on skin tone, scars, and acne. The after-shave I use because I get razor bumps. And, finally, the conditioner is not really needed, except I like to use it as a shampoo substitute on days when I'm not shampooing (advice from my sister, who's a stylist)

I'd never do self-tanner, but a little powder isn't bad if you do happen to have a breakout before a big event. Just enough to make it not so red. I don't understand how people wear mascara though. I had to use it a few times when I was in theater productions and I seriously wanted to rub my eyes constantly.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
Really? I've done self-tanner before. The Jergens stuff works as a dirt-cheap SPF moisturizer and is oil-free and all that jazz. It hardly gives me much color, anyway. IIRC, it's around $6, by far the cheapest SPF at your CVS.
This is my weirdest confession ever.

I know its not metro I have to use Selsun to control my rampant.....................skin production on my head I forget the name, phorosis or something.
I do like It makes my hair very shiny but everyone else hates I don't cut my hair until its insanely heavy. I am aiming for the Kimi Raikkionen style when I cut it next week.

Re: Official WoKJ Metrosexual Grooming Thread
I get my hair cut probably every month. My hair gets so thick, I start feeling like I've got animals in it. Fortunately, I don't have to shampoo everyday, I don't get dandruff anymore, and I don't have to deal with curls.
But when I was little and did get dandruff, I used to use Head and Shoulders. It's also good as a body wash!
